Jackalstar snorted drily, the noise only representing a fraction of her anger. "You're finally awake!" She snapped. She lurched forward, grinning at Blazerunner. "Hopefully, you're feeling better. Now, what was it about DarkPride?" Her smile dropped abruptly, leaving a blank expression that was hard to decode. "Of course we want answers."
She felt her paw twitching, and suddenly, Oasis had swatted at Jackalstar's ear. "Stars and snakes," she cursed (that made no sense, I just thought of it as like a l i o n curse). "If you're trying to act evil and intimidating, don't make it sound like you're straining yourself to keep calm."
The leader laughed. "Okay, I'll calm down," she murmured. Shaking out her fur again, she looked at the flame-furred lioness she once trusted. "I'll wait for... Whatever you have to say."

Quickly, Starfeather nodded. With a quick stretch, he was running towards the direction of SwimPride, right behind Lilyriver.
"Wait!" He suddenly cried out, skidding to a stop. The melting snow made it hard for the lion to gain any traction, but after digging in his claws, he was no longer in motion. After a few pants, he yelled, "They have crocodiles! We have to be careful moving around."
He started making marks in the slush on the ground. "Some lions say that the lake with the crocodiles is at the front of the territory, but if we manage to distract them, we could get across and head to SwimPride. Should they detect us coming, I'll try not to piss them off." The make smiled shyly, worrying over his quickly thought plan.

Skysoul frowns. How could she let her hopes up? “It’s not my job.” She sighs and moves to lay down against the wall. “I’m just a healer.”

Oasis quickly trotted over to Skysoul, crouching down next to her apprentice. "Hey," she whispered quietly. "If you can't take all the chaos, you're more than welcome to relax in the healer's den. This is... Crazy stuff, and I don't know if this whole DarkPride thing is real, or Blazerunner poisoned Jackalstar's mind."
She looked away briefly. "I... Used to know Jackalstar when we were very young. Her mother was very kind, but she was also strict. I try not to be like that— I want to give lions and lionesses I mentor a chance to breathe, to not be forced into something so wild that they lose what they loved." She closed her eyes, before opening them. "So, if you're getting stressed, tell me. Otherwise, I'll let you make your own choices. Don't worry about looking to Jackalstar or I for conformation." The lioness winked, grinning.

Skysoul stared at her mentor, trying to calm her breathing. She shakes her head. “I...I’ll be fine. This involves the whole pride. I want to help. I just think someone who was trained in more...warrior-type things should do the interrogation.” She turns toward Jackalstar, her breathing now calm and barely audible, as if the lioness were in a trance.

Oasis nodded. "Okay, Skysoul." She padded away, walking back to Jackalstar. "How are you doing with your interrogations?" She purred mockingly.
Jackalstar seemed to be staring into space, but shook her head and muttered something incoherent. Oasis raised a brow, until the leader sighed, "I'm good."
"Not the answer I was looking for," the healer admitted, chuckling nervously. She padded away, standing towards the entrance. The camp was a little bit warm, and she was expecting the snow outside camp to cool her down for a little bit before she went back. As she pressed her paw onto the ground, however, she recoiled with a hiss.
"Eugh, gross!" She growled childishly, flicking a mix of mud and melted snow off her paw. She looked down at her fur, feeling happy when she saw clumps of moss and twigs tangled into her fur. Great.

Lilyriver bounded across the savannah and leaped gracefully over the river, landing almost silently and turning to wait for Starfeather.

Midnight slowly woke up, in time to watch Lilyriver leave.

Starfeather, despite training himself to leap long distances in order to "approach prey faster", felt himself getting nervous. With an anxious sigh, he bunched the muscles in his hind legs, and sprang.
While he was midair, he could feel his stomach lurch at the sight of crocodiles, visible just beneath the surface of the water. Before he could stretch his jaws out and cry for help, however, his four paws met land. Out of reflex, he sprinted forward, to Lilyriver.
"How can SwimPride tolerate all of these crocodiles?" He breathed. "Do they have any cubs?" )(tbh starfeather nah theres too many girl lionesses) He lashed his tail around for a second, trying to get his heart rate under control.
"Okay, let's get to SwimPride."
