The huge,strange lion was known for his kindness, and kindness was what she needed right now. After having lost her liter, the dark coated lionesses was exhausted, in pain, and desperately looking for a safe, comforting place.

She had never seen a lion like him before. He was enormous and looked almost more wolf-like then lion-like; no proper mane to speak of, his coat dark and his colors sharply, eye wateringly vivid on the black background; but his strange eyes were gentle as he looked at her, and he smiled honestly.

"You know what this pride is- what we do?" He'd asked, as she'd been brought before him by his females. Two huge, strange looking girls much like himself; she'd seen more then a few lions that were more classically lions in the pride, too, though, and one very rare half-tiger. She'd caught sight of the golden coat glinting in the dusk sun, golden eyes watching everything from a distance before the hybrid had slipped out of sight.

"I've heard the rumors." She replied now, head bowed in respect. He rumbled with what might have been thought or approval.

"They're true." He told her, mildly. "This is not a safe pride."

But it was. She could see it in those kind, calm eyes.

Safe did not always mean the same thing to all lions, after all.

Marxus wasn't much of a 'social butterfly' as other lions called it. He was more of a selective speaker, mostly choosing specific lions and lionesses to talk to. but when he saw these three, lounging in the shade of a large baobab, he immediately felt something in his heart. The lionesses? Stunning. The young male? absolutely Handsome.
He pads up, letting out a low mrowr of greeting, dipping his thickly maned head a little bit to the ground.
The two lionesses chirruped in response, inviting him to sit with them. Marxus obliged, neatly arranging himself next to the three.
For a while they spoke, laughing at awful jokes, or talking about other lions, and grooming each other. When the sun began to set, however, Marxus got up with a stretch, needing to head back to his pride. He did, however, leave them with a small offer, spoken in a soft purr.
He asked them to join his pride.
The three lions looked at each other, and the Dark furred female meowed, saying that they may consider it.
Walking back to the pride, One of the cubs had asked why he looked so happy. He only purred, telling them of the lions he had met.

I'm waiting a bit on the others either to give more chances for other applications, they're too young to be sent yet, or because they're currently pregnant/about to be in heat with a CRB!

If you didn't know, the way I get all my muties to give away is by CRBing literally all my lionesses, so in order to keep giving away goodies I need to see if I get any nice cubbins first. ^^ If there's nothing I want to keep, I'll send them + the cubs right away!

For those wondering why they haven't been given a lion yet... many reasons. Some of which Eithna has stated, but there's another reason...

Zero effort = Zero lions.

These guys are free so it's not like we're asking you to pony up some beetles. The only thing it'll cost you is some time and effort to convince us you are worthy of the lion(s) you're asking for.

It's possible that, as Eithna stated, they're being held for further reviews/entries and then they'd go out to whomever won her over with their entry. It's a practice she's done in the past with muties that have had many entries.

Don't worry if it didn't win her over the first time, Hail. I've seen peeps in the past try again with a different entry and it was much better than their first and they got the lion.
