It was a cold day when he saw her. Sitting up on her rock, looking as though she hadn't a care in the world. Magnus dipped his head in greeting. She ignored him. He made a small purring noise, shaking his mane. Still nothing. He tried and tried but nothing seemed to get her attention. He sat with a huff, exhausted, when something landed on his snout. He yelped, jumping up and down, desperately trying to shake away the bee. So preoccupied was he, that he failed to notice the lioness had begun to laugh.

Masizi approached the adoption center, looking around for a lion to claim into his pride. He noticed in the middle of the crowd a beautiful flint Lioness grooming a tiny, folded ears cub. He approached them "Hey there," He said, catching their attention. "How would you like to join my pride?" The cub jumped up.
"Yes, oh yes! We would love to! Right, Zebra?"
The lioness chuckled and nodded. "Yes we would. Thank you so much, uh, what's your name?"
"Masizi." The King replied. "I'm King Masizi."

Followed by his two new pridemates, Masizi made his way through the crowd, ready to head back home, when a gorgeous lioness stepped in front of him, making him trip.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed. "Are you okay?"
"Yes," Masizi replied, standing up and hesitating, before saying, "How would you like to join my pride?"
"Are you kidding?" The Lioness replied. "I'd love to! I'm beauty, by the way!"
"Lovely to meet you, Beauty," Masizi said in reply.

Those Emerald eyes are gorgeous with the little specks on her face. My plan with her is to hopefully produce more whiskered maned lionesses. This mutation for me gives off a royal vibe, so I will even make her my king’s primary mate, aka Queen.

Eyes opening for what seems the first time, she breathes deeply, and steps forward. "He is innocent"

Startled murmurs race through the assembled crowd. No one challenges His Lordship. Ever. She raises her crystal eyes, realising that she can't back down now. "Let him be"

A weighted, shadowy feeling settled on the lioness as He turned towards her. The stormy eyes that seemed to devour hope, steal joy and take all that is good from this world. His attention is on the lioness now. 

"Did you not hear me? I was unaware that being emotionless takes the sound from your very ears"

The surrounding lions are interested now. They circle like sharks on the scent of blood. He seems to sense this, tilting his head menacingly. The lioness's lungs seem to tighten, shrinking inside her undernourished body.He knows that the servant is not guilty of anything but spilling paint! Should this condemn him to death?She steels herself,  the knowledge that the worst to come will be death for her, not an innocent lion. The female again steps forward. The atmosphere around them has become infinitely deadlier, threat hanging from every word whispered, every shallow breath, every beat of a heart that won't last much longer. A flick of His tail and she has been seized by His servants. 

The volcano is not good enough for you...I think I may just kill you both myself. A traitor protecting another.The voice that came from within the Lord was a rasping, horrible noise. It grated against the ears of all and any, showing no kindness, pity, remorse or anything except pure unrefined hatred. He spoke the only way he ever could; he spoke of all things evil and wrong. The lioness knew she should cower, knew that He would kill her unless she did. But all she could feel was a pity. Pity for the monster that would kill for the pettiest of reasons. So she took another step closer, and smiled.

"You will spare the life of this lion. I know you will, for you are nothing. Now let him go" As simple as taking a breath and opening her mouth, this lioness had stood up to a dictator, a bully, and saved a life. The female turned and started walking. To where, she did not know. But she would walk, until she found a place that suited her needs. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Masizi quickly left the crowd, hoping not to run into any more lions. He only had so much room in his pride, and something told him that the lionesses wouldn't be happy about more lions and less space.
Suddenly, he locked eyes with a lioness. Not again, he thought, but when she came into view, he erased that from his mind. She had a silky, golden pelt and bright, glowing eyes that shone in the sunshine.
"Hi," she padded up shyly. "I'm Trina.. Do you mind if I join you?"
"No," Masizi quickly replied. "Not at all."

Whiskered 2 steps out her den.
An uneasy feelings over whelms her.
She suddenly remembers that she lost her precious cubs.

*sigh* "Another day." she trots off to go find some water she can bathe in to forget her unweary thought.

Even though she lost a litter she still tells herself that there's always more cubs to come.

"Not like those cubs tho, i didn't even see them grow up into young adults.."

Moments later she finds a watering hole. Clearly man built but provides a nice bath to cleanse her coat from the hot sun.
She steps forwards and puts a paw in to see if its safe. Waiting for a few moments nothing has nipped at her so she dives in letting her worries float away.

"Another day." she repeats to herself.
"Just one more day."

As the sun goes down she trots back to her den. Her soaking pelt slowly dragging behind her.
Looking at her empty cave she sits by the entrance letting the remainder of the sun heat her pelt dry.

"Just another day."

I'm a huge fan of mane mutations, especially fuzzy! I saw her and fell in love. If I get her I'd name her Scorchbones, and she'd be a snarky addition to my pride who focuses on "recycling" the remains of carcasses after feeding periods. Usually she just keeps the bones for herself, though.

Can I yoink Ruffled 2, Whiskered 2, and Shaggy Mane please?

Small story: (Ari = Arkaral)

Ari searches for lionesses who need new homes. She wanders into the den, her fur resonates a black haze, almost god-like. Arkaral looks to Ruffled 2, a beautiful lioness. “Greetings, I am looking for a new Goddess to join my pride. Are you willing to join me?” She raises her paw to the lioness. The dark substance drips from her paws. As Ruffled 2 stands and reaches for Ari’s paw, stars surround her toes, Ruffled 2 jerks her paw back and the stars fade away. She looks to Ari and touches her paw to Ari’s. Stars surround her as her fur glows. “You have chosen your fate. Join the other Goddesses in your new den and I will show you your home.” Ari says with a smile.

For Foldie 2

Alolu was walking by his pride border, checking for any other pride kings. He was new at this, having been chased out of his last pride and having to start a new. He located his pride near a big watering hole, and only let lionesses drink from it. He was a kind lion for the females, but for the males, not the same. Anyway, he was patrolling and saw a female from a distance. He squinted his eyes, and she began to jog towards him. When she got closer, she was panting hard.
"Do you need water, miss?"
"Yes... may I have some?"
Alolu stepped to the side and sat down, letting her in. Benia and the other cubs glared at her, for she was different. She had folded ears, but that didnt matter to Alolu. The lioness approached the water and began to drink. After she got her fill, she began to leave.
Alolu cleared his throat, "Ahem, miss. If I let you drink as much water as you need, because God forsake this drought, would you stay?"
The lioness turned around and sat down, her tail thumped lightly.
"Of course. What's your name?"
Alolu smiled, "Alolu."

For Whiskered 2

The drought had come, and Alolu was glad he had chosen to live near the large water hole. He called for Benia and the others to come drink. The heat was unbearable today. Mostly, Alolu had liked the heat but this was too much. As everyone started to drink, he told Benia to watch the others, as he was going to hunt. The hoard under the Shade Rock had much food, but it wouldn't hurt to get more. He started to trot away from the pride, Benia and the others got smaller as he grew farther away. Alolu would stop for a few minutes under large trees, to get some energy back. He had seen a baby elephant run by, he could hear fire. He let the elephant run by, then began chase. He quickly caught up to it and pounced on it. He bit its neck and clawed at its belly. It died quickly, and he put it under a tree to keep it safe. He walked away and saw something laying on the ground. He ran to it, thinking it was an antelope or something. But instead it was... a lioness? He wondered why a lioness so pretty, so unique would be on her own. He thought of bringing her back to the pride, to get refreshed and possibly stay. But then he also needed the elephant carcass.
He nudged her head, "Miss, are you okay?" He said softly. No response. He then laid down next to her, and stuck out his head to go under her. He dug his head under her belly, and used his strength to move the rest of his body, so he was under her. She was now on his back, and he began to trot. If Alolu didnt get a drink, he would have passed out already. He passed the elephant carcass and stopped near it. He continued trotting, someone else should have it. At this point, he was near home, and he yelled out to Benia. She was laying at the edge of the border, and perked up when she saw him. She ran to him and saw the lioness, and didnt question. She pulled the lionesses body onto hers, and carried her to the water hole.

The lioness had began to wake up, and Alolu was resting near her. His ears moved and his nose twitched. He slowly opened his eyes, to see the lioness staring at him with a soft look.
"You...saved me?"
Alolu nodded, "Of course, I couldnt leave a lioness such as you, so elegant, to die."
He got up and yawned, she looked weak.
"Have some water, its cold."
He helped her up, and walked her to the water. She began to drink a lot of water. Alolu was happy that he saved another life.
"You could have unlimited water, if you stayed here. With me?"
The lioness walked up to him, water was dropping from her chin. She rubbed against him, "I would love to."
