Together they created SunStar Pack, a fierce but just pack that ruled Monti for hundreds of years. They united all the smaller wolf packs together. Life in SunStar was considered the greatest a wolf could have. But exactly a hundred years ago, the current ruling Alphas were shot dead by a hunter. The power automatically went to the Betas, but a huntress known as Starlight objected against Sunlight (The Beta Female) from becoming Alpha and challenged her to a fight. Now, only the males can challenge each other in fights, so the pack was horrified at Starlight’s breaking of the ancient customs. But she managed to convince at least half of SunStar Pack that she should be Alpha. The other sided with Sunlight, and a vicious battle broke out between the two, breaking SunStar Pack into two different packs: Sunlight Pack and Starlight Pack. Even though Sunlight and Starlight are long dead by now, the two packs still fight, but not for the same reasons. Each’s objective is to gain control of all six mountains in Monti and either conquer or annihilate the rival pack. Starlight Pack currently has control over Stump, Sharp Point, and Jagged while Sunlight Pack rules Pulch, Magna, and Acri Quadratum. Both packs despise the other, and currently peace is out of question. bear / male / sun warrior / camp the warrior's ears flattened as his charge approached and scolded him. bear hadn't intended to offend anyone, he was just a hungry boy. he dipped his head in a respectful nod, acknowledging the other brute's words. he moved his paw to push at the rabbit carcass and shove it aside. he'd find his own breakfast. bear was usually a lone wolf. he adored his packmates, but he felt he worked best in solitude. either way, in this instance he didn't seem to have an option. his eyes roamed over his superior curiously. "alright." he padded up to flank the male, ready to leave whenever the lead warrior was. bear had never interacted much with the brown wolf. there was little he knew about him, but already he had respect for the wolf to be loyal to codes and the alphas. he couldn't gauge yet if he was a worthy ally, someone he'd want by his side in a battle - but bear was patient and assumed he'd find out. Hakati/Male/Sun/Lead Warrior/Pack Camp Hakati gave a curt nod. "Good. As Beta said, be ready in five." The wolf turned and padded off to find Beta Kiona, who was supposed to be accompanying the boarder patrol. Of course, she was laying in her den. Lazing about while the rest of the pack worked! "Ey Beta!" he growled. "Get your lazy rump out here so we can go on the patrol!" He knew it was disrespectful to speak to the Beta like that but did he care? Not a wink. If she was going to rest in her den while everyone else was working, she deserved whatever he said. Kiona/Female/Sun/Beta/Pack Camp Kiona crawled out of her den, raising her lip in a snarl at Hakati. "Watch yourself." she growled, ears pinned. She flicked her silver tail dismissively at the lead warrior. "Shall we go then?" she barked, padding over to where Bear was. bear / male / sun warrior / camp the large wolf followed along, quiet as he observed the two wolves' bitter exchange. the disrespect in hakati's tone aimed towards a superior made the fur at his nape bristle, discomforted and annoyed. his lips curled in distaste, revealing a touch of white of his teeth. when the beta emerged, he dipped his head at her in acknowledgment. bear wasn't sure what the underlying reason for all of the tension between his two packmates was. an ex-lovers' quarrel? either way, he was irked that two of his comrades held contempt for each other. in a battle situation, they couldn't be relied on each other to have their backs. his ears flicked with mild interest as the two bickered, taking notice of the ire in the beta's eyes and the disgust marring the lead warrior's features. 0 players like this post! Kiona/Female/Sun/Beta/Pack Camp Kiona smiled warmly at Bear. "Thank you for the formalities, dear. But there's no need for that. We're all a big family here." She looked back at Hakati. "Most of us, anyway." She added blandly, while the lead warrior merely growled in reply. "But yes, we should be going." She said, sighing. "Let's go, everyone." With a signal of her tail, she lead the small group toward the forest and to the boundaries. "When was the last time you actually lead a patrol out here, Hakati?" She snarled at the brown wolf. "These trees' scent markers are stale! If Starlight wolves invaded, this would be your fault!" Hakati/Male/Sun/Lead Warrior/Boarder Hakati ignored his Beta's remarks and instead lifted his leg and began re-marking a tree. "Happy?" He growled, moving onto the next tree. "Gods why do you have to be so annoying?" He whispered to himself. Of all wolves to have as his Beta, it had to be HER. Firefly/Female/Sun/Hunter/Sunlight Pack Camp Firefly trotted through the camp, her feet padding on the stone. It was mid-morning, as the sun wasn't at its midpoint yet. This was one of her favorite times of the day. Actually, all times were her favorite time! Except for night...She greatly preferred the warm, shining sun to the eerily luminescent moon. She trotted toward the Center Stone, a large rock in the center of the camp on which the Alphas stood to give their commands. Other wolves were waiting too, as they had been summoned as well as her to get ready for the morning patrols. Suddenly, the sound of quarraling voices caught her ear. She turned and saw Bear, Hakati, and Kiona. Hakati and Kiona appeared to be having a loud disagreement, and Bear stood, observing. Firefly tensed; she didn't like conflict in the pack. It did worse to them than Starlight pack ever could. And, even though she knew it wasn't her place, she turned towards the wolves. "What seems to be the problem?" she said, puffing up her chest and trying to sound and look authoritative and intimidating, but failing miserably. Her heart quickened. "Go chase a rabbit or something." He flicked his tail at her dismissively. Kiona pushed his aside and he growled, going back and looking at a tree he had just marked. He smirked and ran his claws down it, producing an ear-splitting noise. Kiona/Female/Sun/Beta/Boarder Kiona pushed Hakati aside, rolling her eyes. "I'm sorry, Firefly. Hakati's got his tail in a knot today. But do run along dear, it's probably not the best for you to be here right no-- HAKATI, YOU BEEBRAIN!" She growled, her fur fluffing up. bear / male / sun warrior / camp bear padded alongside the two wolves quietly, his big frame sticking out in the dense woods. he remained at the side of the other male, allowing the beta to take the lead and keeping watch from behind with him. his eyes surveyed the forestry domain, ears pricked in alertedness. he frowned slightly when kiona scolded the lead warrior, feeling that some of the blame was to be put on himself as well - all of the warriors, respectively. he couldn't help but feel offended and as if the beta was questioning their abilities to defend the pack. he broke from the patrol and approached another tree, proceeding to urinate on the trunk and help hakati. he moved on to do the same to the next, staying nearby and following his leaders. his stomach growled lowly, reminding him of the reason he was in this uncomfortable situation anyways - he was hungry. 0 players like this post! Firefly/Female/Sun/Hunter/Border/M: Hakati, Kiona, and Moon Firefly winced at the sound, taking a step back. She watched the two wolves bicker back and forth more, but it didn't seem like it was anything serious, at least from the outside. She just wanted to keep everyone happy...That was all. She muttered an apology to the two for interrupting and then did what they had suggested. She darted off into the woods, sniffing the air, trying to catch the scent of her hunting party. During Pack Hunts, the whole pack hunted together to take down large prey such as buffalo and elk. But the daily patrols were mostly used for catching smaller prey, such as rabbits, badgers, foxes, and if they were lucky, some of the lone mountain goats that dwelled on the Monti Mountain Range. It was always easier to hunt together, even if it was in a small group. Finally, she caught the scent of her hunting party. She began to take off after them, running between bushes and trees and rocks, finally coming to the top of a small ledge. She caught sight of them below her near a pond, discussing the hunting strategy for the day. She was about to bound down to join them, when a flash of color caught her eye. She stopped, and caught sight of a small, almost black wolf, with a crescent moon shape on her forehead. She recognized her from the battle a few days ago. StarWatcher, or something like that, she thought her name was. She was a scout for Starlight if she was remembering correctly. The Star wolf was quietly making her way through the woods, not making a sound. It was only luck that Firefly had caught sight of her. But now what should she do? She started to pant nervously, but courage overtook her. She needed to confront her. So she turned and leaped in front of the enemy scout's path. Moon/Female/Star/Scout/In Sunlight territory/ Mentions: FireFly Moon took in a breath as the brown wolf appeared in front of her. Her brain quickly recalled that she was Firefly, a hunter for Sunlight Pack. Moon was familiar with most of the wolves of the enemy pack, due to her scouting sessions. But she had never been caught before...And now she didn't know what to do. (If anyone wants to confront Moon, feel free to! If not, I'll just make FireFly confront her) 0 players like this post! Eclipse /female /Starlight /omega /outside of the camp Looking around Eclipse smelt the air, the strong scent of the sun pack filled her nose. Letting out a tiny whimper she limped towards the shadows " Why me?" she asked herself tucking her tail and lowering her body down to the ground, not realizing she was on the open area of the two packs where anyone or thing would actually dare to attack her. Closing her eyes she tried to shut everything out as she lay in the bushes, only the dark patches of her fur were starting to give away her spot. Rowan slows to stop when the path runs into the water. The lake is small, but a blueish tone gives it a larger feel. Rowan pads over to a more leafy spot where the grass is lush. Kiona/Female/Sun/Beta/Boarder Kiona heard Destiny and dipped her head in greeting. "No, Destiny. Hakati over here was just acting like a big pup. But all is fine now. From behind her, Hakati scoffed. "Don't test me, 'Kati." She hissed through gritted teeth. "Sorry for worrying you, Destiny. We'll get back to our patrol now." She smiled, turning back. "Wait, where's Hakati? Bear, did you see him go anywhere? 'Kati? Hakati!!" The she-wolf growled in anger. "That wolf!" Hakati/Male/Sun/Lead Warrior/Boarder While Kiona explained what they had been doing to Destiny, Hakati took the time to go around more of the boarder, stopping to mark more trees while Kiona was busy talking. Always talking. Talk, talk, talk. All the time. All she did was-- a strange scent hit his nose. Starlight wolf scent. Hakati growled and the fur along his spine fluffed up. He spotted dark patches of fur and padded down to see a Starlight wolfess crouched in a bush. "Boo." He barked, his voice gruff. Siatra/Female/Star/Healer/Lake Siatra gasped when she saw the lake. "It's so pretty!" She dropped the two herb bundles where she stood, dropping to the grass and rolling around happily. "This is the softest grass I've ever laid in! It's a wonder no one's discovered this place! Thank you, Rowan!" Peregrinus | Perry | Male | Sunlight | Healer | On Top of a Rock | Mentions: Open The gaping of jaws, the popping of a spine, the digging of claws into soil. A brutal murder? Fortunately, no. Just Perry shaking off the dregs of slumber. As much as he longed for it to continue the sun had begun to warm his thick coat to an uncomfortable degree, and his tongue curled from his mouth in such protest. As ears pressed flat against his skull and were lost to the world amongst his thick, mottled coat, Perry wondered about his day. What would he do? What could he do? Go maggot hunting? A few of them had unfortunately grown up or died, or maybe both. Either way they were no use to him now. Decision reached, the athletic wolf would rise to pale paws, shaking out his thick coat before heading out to look for rot or dung. Tipping his nose to the air Perry filtered out all the scents of such a beautiful day. Fellow packmates, birds, small rodents, scat, border markings, and the faintest scent of blood. Said aroma never bothered him much anymore. It seemed omnipresent, part of the very landscape, as much so as the trees, rocks, and streams.
