Shifting SpiritsNot a Shifter yet? Join here before posting on this thread!A warm mist surrounds your body, masking the scents of the forest. You feel cold, despite the beaming morning sun. Suddenly, a crackle of leaves sounds behind you and you whirl around to see a...... a tribe of humans staring expectantly at you. "Welcome to the Forest of Shifting Spirits." The voice seems to be all around you as if the whole forest is speaking but yet it just comes from one of the humans before you. "You are one of us. Your spirit longs to be one of the Others. An animal lives deep inside of you and it urges to be set free." All you can do is stare in bewilderment as the humans in front of you start to change. A voice speaks in your mind, "We are one." This time however, the voice seems oddly familiar yet you've never heard it before. With a shudder you realise that this is what they were talking about. Your spirit is more that you ever imagined. (Original Rp idea by RainWatcher (#40211)  This is the Star Stones. Where the Shifters gather to share their newfound spells, talk or just hang out. The way to get here is by following the Lake Path to its end and you will come across the Star Stones. This is where all "Tribe" meetings are held.  The Lake Path where most Shifters often like to swim. This is the main route to the Star Stones and the Forest Village where the Shifters live. There are many different types of fish living in this lake and some Shifters even like to hunt in their animals forms in the lake.  These are the houses in which the Shifters live, commonly referred to as the "Forest Village." Each Shifter lives in their own house but more often Trainee Shifters will live with their Teachers. All the houses are connected by rope bridges and there are stairs and ladders leading up to each of them. Rules:~No perfect characters, godmodding or power playing. ~Lioden Rules apply. ~Please keep swearing to a minimum. ~3+ sentences. Please be literate. If you don't speak fluent english please don't join. ~Do not kill, seriously injure or hurt another character without their owners permission. ~Feel free to cause drama but don't do it all the time. ~Every Shifter studies an element of magic but the White Magic Shifters specialise in lots of different types of magic and shifting. (Your shifter must know some sort of magic but doesn't have to ever have any involvement in it if that is what you wish.) ~Only past tense writing please. 1st Person or 3rd person are ok. ~Check to see what animals are already taken. Only one type of a certain animal. No double ups! ~Fade to black only if mating, birthing is ok. ~Be nice to everyone! ~Shifters have only ONE animal form so choose wisely. You can't change it! ~Put your favourite number in Other if you've read the rules. ~Trainee Shifters are Shifters that have not yet discovered their animal form. Once they can shift as they please they will move to their own house and begin to study magic. ~When Posting please put at least "Name|Gender|Species|Rank." It just makes it easier to follow. You may add more detail if you wish. (Any more suggestions? Feel free to say them!) Their clothes are modern clothes like any normal Human would wear. The Shifter "Tribe" is very civilised and like modern humans in every way apart from, well... the obvious. Their houses are pretty much exactly like in the picture at the top of the post although each Shifter may have a variation of that house. Magic Information: ~Basic Elements don't take long to master but more spells of those Elements can be learned. ~Complicated Elements take longer to master and less spells can be learned. Message Me!) General Information: The Lake Path is a public path that is frequented by Humans in Spring and Summer and sometimes in Winter when the lake is frozen over. Shifters must be careful to not let Humans see them in the lake in their Animal Forms. However, no human can find the way to the Star Rocks or the Forest Village. If so it is on very rare occasion. Shifters may go into the Town of StoneWater to buy food or any miscellaneous things, although they spend most of their time in the forest. Shops in Stonewater: "The Magic Shop:" There is a shop in the Town of Stonewater where spells instructions and potion recipes are sold. It is a small, wooden building on the end of a street. Behind it lays a small park. Human buy these sheets of magic for fun, not knowing that they really hold power to those that can read them. Spells can be learned by the Spell Scrolls but also can be created by the Shifter. Potions will only require ingredients found in nature or spells learned by Shifters. "Sugared Sweets:" A medium sized, brightly coloured shop in Stonewater where sweet treats are sold. Things such as cakes, doughnuts, candy and more. This shop is especially famous for their fresh Danish Donuts filled with fruit. This is a nice shop to go to for Shifters and Humans alike. Characters For All to Rp: Shopkeeper - The Magic Shop: A middle age man that has traveled the world for this type of magic works. He brings Spell Scrolls from all over the world while creating his own. He is a general character where everyone can play him as they please whilst visiting the Magic Shop. He keeps the shop as a hobby since he is the 7th generation to own it. He's not a Shifter but not entirely human either. 0 players like this post! Mason Jones|19|Male|Red Fox|Full Shifter Mason blinked his eyes open as the early morning sun poured through his home's windows. After getting used to the light, he climbed from his mat and stretched, popping his back. Ah.. that felt great! Mason walked to the window, looking across the rope bridges at the other houses. He remembered how his mother would take him from home to home with Rowan, introducing the young twin to their neighbors. The shifter soon took his gaze from the house to look at the forest and back inside. He changed into more comfortable clothes and headed through his house to get food. {{I'm not sure how, uh, civilized this tribe (i.e. if they have modern houses/ clothes) so I left my post very generic. {I added some info on that in the Shifter Information. They're as civilised as normal humans and their clothing and houses are alike to modern society. The reddish light of dawn was just beginning to seep over the horizon, filling the forest with a pale glow. He raised a hand to his face and shook his head. What had his dream been about that it had woken him so violently? The White Magic Shifter shook his head once more before swinging his legs over the side of his bed. He stood with a yawn and walked silently over to his wardrobe. Avon slipped on a black T-Shrit, a light grey hoodie and a pair of jeans. He yawned again and looked out over the other houses and the bleeding forest. Today, he decided that he would go into town to buy a Potion Recipe from the Shopkeeper. Avon looked over to the short bridge that joined his house to his Trainee's and wondered if she was still asleep. 0 players like this post! Arya.::.Snow Bengal.::.White magic trainee.::.16.::. Female I stare at the door of the shop where one could buy spells, usually only bought for fun by humans but in a shifter's hands, they can be used for their purpose. I gripped the handle of one of my grocery bags, knowing I spent all my money on some food. Even though it was very early in the day, the town awoke to try to attract as much tourists as possible, afraid to loss a dime as they won't have much of a chance during the winter when the island wasn't as beautiful, the time of tourists is now. The shop was one of the oldest, standing building in the small population of Stonewater, despite its age it looked like a rather new building attracting many tourists. I walked through the wooden doorway, my hand gilding, feeling every notch in the wood. As always, even though it was early in the morning, there were plenty of tourist moving around, looking at some of the more cheap spells to buy. I spotted a younger man with a bag full of scrolls, he wasn't very handsome, which made him an easy target. "Excuse me," I touch his wrist that was carrying the bag lightly, "I was wondering what type of scrolls you have," I say with a light smile. I smirk as I skip lightly upon the Lake Path, swinging the bag full of scrolls. The sun blinded me as I stepped into a sunny spot that the leaves didn't shade. I stopped just to admire the lake as it glistened against the sunlight, making it sparkle. I stared at the path ahead of me as I heard footsteps coming toward me, hikers. I ran into the forest, where I felt safest as I watched them pass, unnoticed. I switched easily into my form, the Bengal. I grabbed the paper bags into my mouth, hooking a fang so that the bags wouldn't fall as I climbed upward to the lowest branch and begun to leap toward the houses. Soon reaching my part of the village I transform back into my human form mid-air as I land on my feet, as cats do, onto a wooden and rope ladder. I stand, bags in hand expecting to see someone, but no one came forth. "Looks like I am the only one up this morning." I smile as I pat down my light pink skirt. I walk towards my door and put my things next to it as I turn around, loving the sight of the orange sunrise. I transform once again, pouncing onto an armrest from a chair to the roof as I watch from above. Outfit: Link ^.^ Forever wearing my silver cross. 0 players like this post! Mason Jones|19|Male|Red Fox|Full Shifter Mason had slipped on some cargo pants and a plaid button down shirt. As he walked to his kitchen, he grabbed a pair of socks and shoes. He made himself breakfast and ate quickly, ready to start the day. With a smile on his face, Mason put on the shoes and fixed his face and hair. I must have slept weird.... my hair is sticking up. Mason got his hands wet and shaped his hair. When it was the way he liked, the shifter left his house. He took a deep breath as he stepped out the door, looking at all the scenery. Kate dressed quickly in her normal black singlet, jeans and black boots. Walking into rays that woke the shifter, Kate immediately shifted into her animal form as she liked it more than her human form. She noticed a few other shifters were outside so she padded up to them (mason and Arya) . Quick question, can you understand someone if you're in animal form and they're in human form?) Crevan L'Amour = 23 = Male = Racoon = Trainee Shifter Crevan walked out, leaned on the door frame of his house and took a bite of the bright red apple in his hand. He had just spend a large part of his morning picking out his outfit and fixing his hair. If he was a magical being, he sure was going to look like it. Observing the other shifters that were out and about he felt a pang of envy. When was he going to learn to bring forth his inner animal, what would it look like? Crevan looked at Mason, Arya, Kate and Avon and pursed his lips into a pout. Would he be as beautiful as Arya's snow bengal, as strong as Avon's golden hawk, as swift as Kate's snow leopard or as clever as Mason's red fox. Leigha Valkens|22|Female|Swan|Full Shifters A white hairy mass slowly appeared from under the covers as Leigha uncovered herself. Her hair would have to be fixed as, even if she didn't like attention, she wouldn't go out with a rat's nest for hair. Leigha slowly moved from her laying position to sitting with her legs dangling. Sighing, she opened her eyes and looked around the room. Everything the same. Leigha stood and walked straight to her vanity to fix her hair and get dressed, as she sleep in the nude. Picking up the brush on the dresser, the shifter began brushing the tangles from her abnormal hair and styling it in waves. When her hair was done, she grabbed the clothes for the day: dark skinny jeans, an over sized black hoodie, and black boots. Her dark clothes took some of the unwanted attention away, leaving Leigha in her peaceful bubble. Leigha looked out the window for a second to see a group of shifters chatting away. Shacking her head at such "strange behaviors", she carried along to the kitchen to make a fruit salad. 0 players like this post! Like? |

All animals can understand each other as well.} Avon Cornwell|18 Years|Male|White Magic Shifter|Golden Eagle Avon looked to his Trainee's house again and spotted a Snow Bengal leaping about. With a chuckle he swung open his door and walked softly across the rope bridge to Arya's house. He reached out and knocked on the door and, without waiting for a reply, opened it. Seeing Mason, he nodded at him. Avon cleared his throat and asked, "Arya, I was just about to head to the Magic Shop in town. Do you....." he trailed off when he spotted a bag of Spell Scrolls on the ground. "Oh, I see you've already been today! Well, I was going to go pick up a few Spell Scrolls myself, I was thinking we could try out some spells today." The White Magic Shifter sighed and turned. He flashed the Trainee a smile before Shifting and leaping off of the rope bridge. Spotting a few other Shifters below him, Avon let out a screech that could only be one of an Eagles. (You don't have to read the next paragraph as it doesn't involve any of the other characters.) Reaching the Magic Shop of Stonewater, he landed behind the building and shifted once again. Avon reached into his pocket and fished out a short list. Phoenix, Fire Burst. He trotted into the store and snorted. The place was crawling with Humans, their baskets filled with powerful Spell Scrolls and Potion Recipes. Avon walked straight to the counter and smiled at the Shopkeeper. With a joking tone he asked, "Did you move your Phoenix Spell Scrolls? I didn't see 'em on my way in!" The Shopkeeper looked bewildered for a moment before squinting at Avon. With a chuckle he replied, "Sorry Avon, I just sold it to that fella' over there." He gestured with a finger to a tourist browsing through the Potion Recipes. Avon grunted and snapped back, "Grab a Fire Burst Spell Scroll for me. I won't be a moment." He flashed a crooked grin and walked up to the tourist. 0 players like this post! Relief washed over him when she turned back into her human form, a transformation he felt was only slightly less dangerous. He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck,"Yes. But I didn't dream, makes me wonder if full shifters dream in their animal forms. Do you?" Crevan looked up and watched the golden eagle lift into the air.
