Shifting SpiritsNot a Shifter yet? Join here before posting on this thread!A warm mist surrounds your body, masking the scents of the forest. You feel cold, despite the beaming morning sun. Suddenly, a crackle of leaves sounds behind you and you whirl around to see a...... a tribe of humans staring expectantly at you. "Welcome to the Forest of Shifting Spirits." The voice seems to be all around you as if the whole forest is speaking but yet it just comes from one of the humans before you. "You are one of us. Your spirit longs to be one of the Others. An animal lives deep inside of you and it urges to be set free." All you can do is stare in bewilderment as the humans in front of you start to change. A voice speaks in your mind, "We are one." This time however, the voice seems oddly familiar yet you've never heard it before. With a shudder you realise that this is what they were talking about. Your spirit is more that you ever imagined. (Original Rp idea by RainWatcher (#40211)  This is the Star Stones. Where the Shifters gather to share their newfound spells, talk or just hang out. The way to get here is by following the Lake Path to its end and you will come across the Star Stones. This is where all "Tribe" meetings are held.  The Lake Path where most Shifters often like to swim. This is the main route to the Star Stones and the Forest Village where the Shifters live. There are many different types of fish living in this lake and some Shifters even like to hunt in their animals forms in the lake.  These are the houses in which the Shifters live, commonly referred to as the "Forest Village." Each Shifter lives in their own house but more often Trainee Shifters will live with their Teachers. All the houses are connected by rope bridges and there are stairs and ladders leading up to each of them. Rules:~No perfect characters, godmodding or power playing. ~Lioden Rules apply. ~Please keep swearing to a minimum. ~3+ sentences. Please be literate. If you don't speak fluent english please don't join. ~Do not kill, seriously injure or hurt another character without their owners permission. ~Feel free to cause drama but don't do it all the time. ~Every Shifter studies an element of magic but the White Magic Shifters specialise in lots of different types of magic and shifting. (Your shifter must know some sort of magic but doesn't have to ever have any involvement in it if that is what you wish.) ~Only past tense writing please. 1st Person or 3rd person are ok. ~Check to see what animals are already taken. Only one type of a certain animal. No double ups! ~Fade to black only if mating, birthing is ok. ~Be nice to everyone! ~Shifters have only ONE animal form so choose wisely. You can't change it! ~Put your favourite number in Other if you've read the rules. ~Trainee Shifters are Shifters that have not yet discovered their animal form. Once they can shift as they please they will move to their own house and begin to study magic. ~When Posting please put at least "Name|Gender|Species|Rank." It just makes it easier to follow. You may add more detail if you wish. (Any more suggestions? Feel free to say them!) Even in our animal form, we sometimes get great dreams!" she answered cheerfully. She then changed not only the subject, but herself as well. Kate's thought was not to make Crevan envy her, but for him to see what a wonderful gift he had once he discovered it. Crevan L'Amour = 23 = Male = Racoon = Trainee Shifter Crevan was reassured by Kate's enthusiasm and moved from the door frame he had been leaning on into the sunlight. He examined her a bit closer, feeling less fearful than before,"You really are something." He said with appreciation. This form that she took felt like it held so much more ability and power. He walked a little forward while thinking of the possibilities before turning back and striking a masculine pose,"I think I will be something strong, maybe a fearsome lion?" Then he dramatically clutched at his heart,"Or something frightening, like a King cobra." Then he moved back over to her,"Or maybe something absolutely mesmerizing, like a snow leopard." ((@CatGirl, would Kate like to be Crevan's teacher? I completely understand if you don't wanna, or if it doesn't fit how you want her character. It all depends on your personality first!" she told him in a seriously but still cheerful voice. The snow leopard then sat, her shoulder muscles shone in the sunlight and groomed herself, although it was not needed. Meh... a little writers block XD) 0 players like this post! Leigha Valkens|22|Female|Swan|Full Shifter After her fruit salad was finished and eaten, Leigha walked to the back of her house where a ladder that reached to her roof was. She climbed up the wooden rungs and sat on the roof, watching the busy shifters enjoying their morning. Her gaze soon caught on Crevan and Kate. Trainer and Trainee. Leigha tried not to dwell on the fact her trainer had been killed in a hunting activity and instead transformed into her elegant swan form. She waddle across the roof, awkwardly taking off and flying around the village. Soon Leigha flew away from the village to her favorite pond. As she landed in the water, the swan began to regret her fly around the village, hoping no one saw her. Her worse fear was that someone would follow her, but she tried to keep that from her minds. Leigha soon curled her neck elegantly and swam around the pond. Mason Jones|19|Male|Red Fox|Full Shifter Mason soon got distracted from going to his brother's house and started just wondering around the village. He looked up to see Leigha fly away. She loved the water, even if she did have to deal with wet fur afterwards; she much prefferred swimming in her animal form. Glancing around, she spotted Mason a little distance down the path she was currently one. "Hey, Mason!" She called, breaking into a run in order to catch up to him. Once she had, Mai slowed back to a walk. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to th lake with me?" She asked, flashing a smile. Arya .::. Female.::. Snow Bengal .::. White magic trainee I leaped down with ease from my position on top of my house. I did want to go with Avon to the shop, I really didn't mind having to go once more as I liked Stonewater, just the people can get a too much. I watched as he switched into his powerful form of an eagle and took flight. I switched back into my human form, knowing my claws didn't do much good against hands. I took the bag full of scrolls and looked through what that boy could have bought. I got distracted as I thought what everybody would think if I told them I didn't have to buy them. Not as if I stole it either. I shrugged off the thought and resumed looking through the bag, "I wonder what I could use this for," I pulled out a stroll with a flame engulfing a tree. My interest peaked, I rummaged through the rest of the bag. "I bet Avon will be proud of my elemental haul." I smile as I continue to look through pulling how a total of 4 scrolls, 3 were of the elements fire (Explosion), earth (Landslide) and wind (sky slice), but the fourth? I took it in hand looking around it, not seeing any words or sign of what it might be. I looked at the handles of the old scroll, it had been scratched out. My thump moved over the notches of the the missing symbol. "What would a boy from Connecticut would need these for?" I mumble under my breath, he must of been rich, these element scrolls were expensive, even having different volumes as you can't fit everything on just one. "Maybe Avon will know?" Vic Fuentes l l River Otter l l Full Shifter l l Leigha Valkens He woke up, laying in his bed motionless. "I dun wannaaaaaa." he muttered to himself, rolling off and dragging himself to his dresser. He grabbed a towel, a yellow T-Shirt, His headphones, A brush, And some Underwear, Socks, And jeans. He walked with a yawn to his shower, undressing from his night wear and stepped into the warm water. Cleaned, Dry, and clothed, he walked out of his house, headphones connected to his iPod and playing music. He walked to the Lake, smiling and waving to the other people he saw. He swiftly transformed into his Otter, leaving his headphones and iPod in a small pile off of the path. He dove in, gracefully swimming over to a large animal as he identified as a swan. "Hello, there." He squeaked lightly, paddling with strong effort in the warm water. "Leigha Valkens, right? I prefer last names. Can I call you Valkens? You can call me Vic or Fuentes." He said, black beady eyes looking around. Ryan Ross l l Amur Leopard l l Full Shifter l l Waking Up and Going Into Town (If you don't want to, this paragraph doesn't include anyone else.) Waking up, he realized how late he'd slept in with a glance at the clock. He jumped out and quickly changed, brushing his hair down and popping his black hat on. Before he left, he decided to leave his hat, and transformed into his leopard so that maybe people would leave him alone, crawling through a doggy door he had put on his door. He gracefully ran down the ropes, ignoring all shifters he saw, and staying out of they eyes of tourists. He let out a loud yawn, fangs bearing as he unsheathed his sharp claws, leaping up a tree until he was at the very top, looking around and climbing back down. He made his way into town,staying in the alleys where he could still enjoy being in his leopard form. He looked at the meat house, flicking an ear and discovering a plan. A man was ordering some chops, and Ryan saw a piece of trash, kicking it at a crash can where they both were distracted. In swift motion, he swiped the meat, trying to save his coins, and returned to his home, shifting back to regular and cooking a small meal with the pork. Wynter l l Wolf l l Leader's Mate l l Waking up She slowly woke up, seeing that Rowan was still asleep in the bed next to her's. Deciding to let him sleep, she went to the refrigerator, grabbing a pack of bacon and smiling as the sizzle and smell wafted over the house. 'This'll wake him up." She thought, gabbing a plate and putting on four pieces of the pig, some buttered toast, and watermelon, setting it on his pillow right next to his face, and made her own plate, sitting down at the table and eating her's quickly, leaving leftovers in case he was still hungry after he ate. She walked down the Lake Path, waving at Vic and Leigha, and made her way to the Star Stones, transforming into her wolf form and sitting down, looking at the scarce members of the tribe there and giving a warm smile to them. 0 players like this post! Feliks Volkov | European Pine Marten |16 | Trainee Shifter Feliks had gone to bed the previous night sleeping in a favorite tree of his. He climbed into it from the bridges, balancing his feet on the rope and reaching for the branches. Feliks was quite nimble and it wasn't a difficult task for him. He sometimes felt that his animal would be a monkey, even though monkeys thoroughly creeped him out. But he had to admit, he did like hanging out in the treetops and he hoped he at least had a tree dwelling animal form. He didn't want to admit that he envied others and their animal forms while he was still trying to figure it out and was often questioning if he even was a shifter or not. As far as he knew, he wasn't anyone special and he had been born to two normal human parents. Although he didn't know his mother and he kept that thought at the back of his mind. On this particular morning, Feliks was woken by the sunlight streaming in through the trees and he opened his eyes and blinked several times to shake the sleep from them. His brown hair was only slightly mussed from his odd sleeping position. He liked to wrap his arms around the branch for support. He just hoped that didn't mean he would be a sloth. Feliks crawled down the tree nimbly and jumped once he was close to the ground. His once smooth hands were worn and calloused from his life in the treetops. But it didn't bother him. He figured it gave him personality and his marks gave him stories to tell... even if he was a very quiet and timid person. From across the camp he spotted Kate and Crevan. He sympathized with Crevan as they both had one thing in common- both were trainees, but Crevan was much older than he was. He felt sorry for him not knowing what his animal form was. It was all a bit discouraging at times. Feliks would have maybe wanted a quick word with Crevan, but he was unsure about Kate and her short temper and bold personality. It wasn't anything against her, Feliks just didn't feel totally comfortable around people whose personalities clashed badly with his. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Do you know what this can be?" I shove the scroll in front of them, till realizing I might of interupted something, pulling it back. "Opps, did I interrupt something?" I say with confusion. She started feeling uncomfortable, but answered his questions anyway. "Call me what you like, I don't care much..." The swan backed away a bit, giving herself more space between Vic and herself. If swans weren't so heavy, she would've probably taken off by now. Mason Jones|19|Male|Red Fox|Full Shifter (Maina Kepaldia) "Hm? Oh hey, Maina!" Crevan L'Amour = 23 = Male = Racoon = Trainee Shifter Crevan stepped back and smiled welcoming at the new addition, he gazed at the scroll in Arya's hand,"I've heard quiet a few different things about them from the shifters, or I guess overheard," He coughed awkwardly realizing those were the days he had been tailing the more powerful shifters around, trying to understand how they developed their magic,"Some scrolls you can absorb the magic once you fully understand what is written inside." He ran his hand over the scroll feeling for power," Some are elementally heavy, a couple of animals are more connected to fire, wind, earth, water." He tapped on it and chuckled,"I have seen a few explode. I don't know if that was the intention, or an accident." The only reason he had gained this knowledge was to cure the boredom of not yet being able to study it. He tapped the scroll again one more time just for good measure before turning and realizing another trainee had arrived. He waved at Feliks before grasping his stomach, it growled," Would anyone like to get some food in town? We can stop by the shop." Crevan knew the dangers of being in such a populated area, but he loved the shops and restaurants available. ((Just having way too much fun thinking about scrolls!!)) 0 players like this post! Despite that he had more knowledge than I did. "Now that you say that, I don't think I had breakfast this morning," I laugh, holding my stomach. "I think Avon went to the shop as well." Shruging, I say with ease, "I don't know what he wanted, but I think he may have an idea what this is." I hold my scroll high, I threw the scroll at Crevan and ran to my room, throwing the rest on the bed and came back. "Ready! Wait... You have money?"
