Private RP between myself and 32475

Star Log
Date: April 3rd, 2537
Mission: To scout for new worlds
Number of Occupants: 100 Crew
Log Author: James Grant
Months ago, we launched into space on a scouting mission for a new world to plant Earth residents on. Our own planet is dying, and we need to find a location to transfer to. The goal is to locate a planet similar to our own world. So far, we've located nothing. There have been stars, planets and suns and moons, but nothing of suitable living. The mission has grown desperate, and I fear that my sister and I will never find a place to truly call home. Will we be lost out here in space forever, I wonder? Will we ever see home? Supplies, at this time, are in a good status, but how long will they last? The past several days, we've had many emergencies, especially in the engineering room. The Core has been failing for some time now, and the causes are currently unknown. To go back to Earth would be a death sentence for us all. We must find a place to land our ship... I just hope the captain knows what he's doing....

That was the last Star Log that James would get to put in. Just as he was finishing it, the alarms began to ring, and something exploded upon the ship. It was jarring, and had him falling out of his seat with a grunt. The man shook his head a bit, stood to his feet. His sister, he had to find his sister. Over the intercoms, one could hear the captain speaking.

"This is your Captain speaking. An evacuation order has been sent out. Calmly make your way to the pods, and abandon the ship. I repeat, an evacuation order has been sent out."

Paling a bit, James was quick to sprint down the hall to the Women's quarters. He was screaming, shouting, for his sister. Where was she...? Little did they know that this would be a new start for them....

No, not with their leader. "Ah, yes... You'll have to forgive Mishani. She's been bitter since the attack upon her village not more than a moon ago. Here, try these, please." The strange herb was offered to Adlaide while her brother greedily drank from the water flask. He was definitely thirsty, and the water tasted extremely sweet. There was something in the water that made it so. Quenched his thirst at least. For that he was grateful.

"Mishani is....very headstrong, and doesn't take kindly to other authoritative figures. Especially when they are Outlanders. The last one that came here wound up being a kind person, but he left when we forbade it. Our planet is a strange one from what he called Earth. But, I will explain it as we ride."

Adlaide's eyes brightened. "So he did end up here, that would explain your knowledge of English." She tapped her fingers against her knee glancing at James. That meant she knew more about the planet than she first thought. That was good to know.
Once more she declined the offer for water. "No thank you, I had water earlier." She stood up, rather slowly then sighed. The first part of the ride was rather enjoyable, but she figured the second part of the journey would be far less enjoyable. If they did end up telling Mishani their story maybe just maybe she might be a little kinder.
She glanced at James happy to see him looking a bit better than he had a few moments ago. This made her relax slightly but only just enough for her shoulders to sag slightly. She took a breath and glanced around the company. The kindness of this elven looking fellow made her wonder if the others were kind as well.
Either way that didn't mean they'd get out of a meeting with the king alive. At this thought she grew cold and distant once more.

"Don't worry about the journey or destination so much. Mishani knows not if you are an omen of good, or of bad. Thus far, I'd say you're not bad. You're wounded, which means you aren't some sort of demon. Those ilk are a rather nasty sort to try and kill. Capturing one is even harder... The king may be a little tense, yes, but he is a good man. He actually raised Mishani like a daughter." So they would be well and safe. He was a good fellow... They'd find nothing to fear.

"That fellow, though...he made it home?"

"A very different home from the one he left, but he did make it." She replied thoughtfully. Demons? Killers? She glanced at James, did they really think they were demons and killers? One brow lifted slightly at the thought. It was ridiculous, completely and utterly ridiculous. They were injured, young and fairly innocent, but perhaps there were monsters out there that could pose as such people.
That brought Adlaide to glance around sharply, her eyes scanning the surrounding area.
(Sorry for the short reply.)

(You're good. Sorry for the late reply. Today was far busier than I had anticipated.)

"Don't worry. I know that now, watching you. Demons aren't so easily injured... They are resilient, and downright cruel."

The man glanced towards the others then, frowned a little. "We're just on edge over these attacks recently. THey're sudden, and we can't find trace of the people slaughtered, and the survivors that we do find can't remember anything...." It was worrying, to be honest. Who knew what was going on.

The world was in chaos, that was great. Sounded like the last moments on earth, no one had known what was going on... Adlaide's lip curled slightly with disgust. Apparently the human race was just not meant to last, they kept facing so many issues each time only just narrowly avoiding death.
These people didn't have the technology to get off their planet if it were truly dying. Then again, neither did they. She frowned slightly and shook her head slowly, that just about made that day even more awesome than ever. Adlaide tipped her head to one side. "How do you know it is these.... demons, that are killing people and not something or rather someone else?"
Back home on earth before they'd left she knew that there'd been a ton of chaos. Bad people went around doing terrible things to the innocent to spread fear like a contagious disease. She couldn't help but suspect something like that happening here. Then again, this wasn't earth, these people weren't like the human race she knew so well. Still she couldn't help but wonder if something similar were happening here.

(Sorry for the wait. Been playing WoW with dad.)

He shrugged at that. "We're not sure... Demons usually leave a trail in their wake, but there is nothing... Mishani refuses to believe it is anything other than they, and since you set fire to metal, she believes you are only demons... Fear, hate and grief has blinded her, but she will see in time that this is not the case. Demons do not look like you. You are odd... Humans, I think is what the man called himself to be? Correct me if I'm wrong."

James, honestly, was curious about all of this. That, and he had another of the strangers tending his arm.... Seemed they had better material than the metal poles, which did hurt.

(No problem. =) )
Adlaide warily watched the stranger that was tending to James arm, only replying after watching for a few long moments. "Yes, we are called humans." She said, though she was inwardly laughing about the comment that they didn't look like demons. On earth demons were portrayed as massive fiery sort of things. Sure her hair occasionally looked like fire in the right lighting but she agreed they didn't look like demons, or at least Earth's definition of the things.
"Might I ask what these demons look like? Back home we called some things demons, but I doubt they look similar." She didn't want to apply much pressure on what seemed to be a sensitive topic for these beings, but she wanted to know in case she did run into a demon while staying on this planet.
She was glad to see James arm getting properly cared for, the rough thing she had made probably had been somewhat painful for him. She raised one cool hand to her bruised cheek, the cold helping to sooth the ebbing pain as they stood in the cold. It was then her thoughts turned to her own appearance. Adlaide knew for a fact that James looked rather terrible, smudged with soot and bruised well over, his hair looked like a terrible mess. Reflecting on this she figured that she looked similar, bruised here and there, a cut on her brow and knees, she could actually see the very ends of her hair and some hairs looked singed from the explosion of the pod. Ah well, it wasn't like she had a mirror or any time to try and appear decent. Besides it wouldn't matter at all if the two of them were thrown in some dark dank prison far underground where no light reached.

"Well...." He sighed softly, rubbed the back of his neck a few moments. "Demons are massive beasts, able to take the form of any creature they desire. They can look like us, talk like us...but there is always one definitive way to define them. Their eyes are always a red color, like blood. THeir hair is always fiery if in our form. As animals, they always wear the colors of the night, dark colors full of hatred, with markings like lava. They leave fire in their wake in their beast forms.... Hideous things..."

Yes, they both looked like complete crap, seeming as if they'd been in a trainwreck. It was awful, truly. That was when the elvish man offered Adlaide the herbs again, wondering if she'd take them this time.

(I might be a little slow, I'm working on a bunch of art stuff.)
"Oh then, very similar to what Earth thinks they look like." Adlaide accepted the herbs this time, glad for their soothing effect on her body. They'd been through an awful lot today, and their current situation wasn't completely horrible, but something was edging on her nerves. Something just felt wrong with this place. It took her a few moments to realize what was getting on her nerves, the bird like creatures she'd heard earlier were quiet perhaps it was only because it was night, or maybe it was something else.
She narrowed her eyes slightly glancing around the area. She didn't see anything, but that did little to calm the uneasy feeling that was gathering in the pit of her stomach. Human eyes were not the best at detecting things in the dark, that meant whatever was out there could be watching without being seen. Unless this other race of people could see easily in the dark. Maybe it was just another one of their scouts standing watch out there.

(FUn, fun! Speaking of which, if you decide to do a scene from here, would you be willing to let me know/show me? o: )

"Wolf-folk... They've been following you for some time," the elvish man said. "Mishani cannot see in the dark, but my people can. We're gifted in that sense. More nocturnal than anything else. Anyway, they won't come near. Mishani has been known to actually kill them. I don't mind them...but they're honestly not the best people out there. More wolf than human...." It was strange, these people. It caused James to frown.

"What are....wolf-folk...?" he asked then, glancing towards his sister. This was a lot to swallow, and he was more logical, more concrete based. This was hard to believe.

(Of course! ^-^ I'd be happy to show you.)
Great just another type of dangerous thing out there ready to kill them. Adlaide's mouth twisted into a frown, now she couldn't help but be a little grateful to these people for capturing them, or whatever they wanted to call it. Either way, she was glad to be with a somewhat large company of things that could actually defend themselves.
Adlaide took a breath and then let it out as a sigh. "Well, learning about all these different things makes me almost grateful you guys picked us up." She said this partly under her breath, just loud enough to reach the ears of those in the immediate vicinity.

(Coolio. ^^ Thanks. :) )

"You can't tell me you seriously believe in that, Addy..." James stated, frowning a bit more. Did he believe in it? No, not really. Humanoid versions of themselves? Sure, he could believe that. But...wolf-folk? That was a bit different. He didn't even believe in demons.

This caused the kind elvish man to chuckle a bit though. "You are new to our world. I do not expect you to believe all that we have to tell or share. This planet is one based on partnership, if you will. I'm not sure if our word for it would be easily digested, though I Think one is similar enough to your own. A ...symbiotic relationship? Yes, I think that is the word..."

Adlaide looked at James brows raised slightly. "You don't believe it? This isn't Earth, and you know we had stories about things like demons and wolf-folk. Often where there are myths there are the tiniest bits of truth. Think about it brother. Also, haven't you ever heard of Dr. Issac Brown? For the longest time there was a big controversy over him really finding another planet with life on it. This is the planet, he wrote a book on it, no one believed him, I think we should start believing him." She crossed her arms and lifted her chin, her eyes flickering brightly. "Don't try to discredit the book either, there is immense evidence that Dr. Brown actually made it here. That's why I knew a bit of their speech."
She was beginning to look flustered. "You see, Earth and this place seem to have a bit of a connection. People often talked of demons and werewolves on our planet. Here those things could actually be real. Think of all those other myths and legends mom and dad told us about, maybe here those aren't all just legends and myths." She flung one hand out towards the elf like man. "Elves are fiction on Earth, yet here is someone who looks suspiciously like the elves described by J.R.R Tolkien in his books about Middle Earth."

"But elves at least are humanoid," James huffed. "And I can see him plain as day right now." Either that, or they were dead, and this was some kind of twisted afterlife... Their little argument had the poor elvish man chuckling, though. "Besides, we haven't seen these...wolf-folk or demons for ourselves. How do we know they're not just myths here, either?"

Ah, the perks of being concrete rather than abstract... James was definitely the more level headed one, and needed proof more often than not to believe in things. To him? There were no such things as miracles and the like... Perhaps, with this new planet, that would all change with time.
