Right, so I had an idea. Female lionesses will (probably) not get primal, meaning it would pass exclusively from the male line. That makes it VERY limited though since most people don't like male cubs/don't have the space for them and would only end up chasing or sex changing them. Also, submales can't breed and not everyone (me for example) wants a primal King. Solution: Why don't we have it so that the females CARRY the gene for Primal but rarely, or never express it. Think of it as a sex-linked thing, like color blindness. Women typically don't get it because it's found on the 'X' gene. If you've got a bad 'X' gene a good 'X' gene will take over and the women's vision will be fine. Two bad X's and yeah-- you'll be colorblind and any sons you have will also be. Your daughters will carry it. However, if you're a guy, you've only got one X so you're only option IS to be colorblind. So maybe Females can have expressed primal (rare than male primal) with a definite (or higher) pass rate to sons (the rate of male to female cubs is roughly 1/3) and carried primal (commonality: ???) which they can inherit from their fathers and pass on to any sons. How I'm seeing it: Base Pass Rate (from father) 5% (to sons) 1-2.5% (to daughters - carried) .5-1% (to daughters - express) --- Base Pass Rate (from mother) 3% (from Carrier mother to son) 2% (from Carrier mother to daughter:carried) 1.5% (from carrier mother to daughter:expressed) 7% (from Expressed Mother to son) 5% (from Carrier mother to son) 4% (from Expressed Mother to daughter:carried) 2% (from Expressed Mother to daughter:expressed) EDIT 1: Since most people favor a solo male pass consider the gene being exclusively male BUT females can carry it? This is an idea already in the works and the numbers above (minus expressed lionesses) still apply to the idea. I don't know, thoughts? Suggestions? |

Not always. Personally, I've got no interest in Primal except maybe using it make sb/gb. And that still doesn't solve the problem of there not being enough space or enough reasons to keep males on lioden for the mutation to flourish much. Many males get chased or abandoned, two things that erase mutations (and killing obviously). A lot of people I've spoken to simply can't justify spending gb on male slots when males do nothing. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jackster, if all your interested in is a profit, then don't you realize having it as a harder to come by is gonna make it more valuable? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Before lion scrotums were a thing February last year, basically most female mutations were useless for passing on but people still spent 100s of GB on male and female dwarfs as trophys. I'm pretty sure it's going to be the same thing. Some people would even go as far as to freeze them. Some things are just for sentimental value, not everything needs to have a use. To be blunt, if you aren't interested in Primal why did you make this suggestion? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I realize that. The problem is the amount of males you can have is limited which means not too many people are gonna be able to BUY primal males in the first place. It's like buying an expensive car but not having space in the garage. Yeah. we, female lions are easier to get spaces for and mutations don't hinder their ability to breed or hunt, save for two. And I am interested, for profit sake, clearly. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jack you honestly think some people wouldn't scrap their current submales if it meant getting a primal? Cause I can see some people doing that. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I don't see the point of making them do that when Lioden could just add more male slots 8/ 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh good God. not that again. ;) I think males are "supposed" to be limited because, as you are so fond of pointing out, there's not much use for them yet. As it stands most of em just hang around. You don't need alot of submales and I would gladly scrap any of my submales to keep a primal. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Males a limited because Lioden is trying to maintain the illusion of it being a realistic game. Meanwhile, we got cinnabar and lilac lions, so I don't see the point. *Shrug* No point in keeping several primals for that same reason, except aesthetics. Submales can't breed after all. Anyway, I vote a passive gene passable by the females. I'm not budging on this stance either, so there's really no point in arguing it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I just think of how fast the piebalds are being *slightly* devalued and shudder. I like primal, I'd like primal to be valuable and stay so for a while. I'm okay with females having but not passing it, as I've stated previously. Anyway II'll stop discussing it I've made my point. I had fun though so thank you. Always nice talking to you Jackster. :) 0 players like this post! Like? |
