"I'm Kelsie, Nate's friend obviously." She laughed dryly not really feeling like laughing though, "What's his current state? Is he awake?" She doubted it but she had to ask regardless. Idiot is something Kelsie wouldn't use to describe Nate but right now after hearing what he did, maybe it was fit, even though he did save a life, that was just his character.

Jessie looked at Kelsie. She was quite pretty. "So you're the infamous Kelsie," Jessie says, smiling as she turns back to look at Nate and then her again. "I've heard about you. The best friend. The partner in crime." And then the smile slips from Jessie's face, as Kelsie asks his current state. "He's alive, thats for sure. But he's not awake. The doctors think that he can hear us, but we don't know for sure."

Kelsie was surprised that Nate actually talked about her at work, 'partner in crime' and all. Walking up to his sleeping form, she sat down and took his hand in hers, "Hey...it's Kelsie." She started sniffling lightly, "Your best friend that is telling you to wake up because we left a conversation unfinished." A tear rolled down her cheek as she brought his hand up to her eye level, "Please...wake up, or...or I will kick your ass while you're asleep."

"I always look forward to a good ass kicking," Nate says softly, his voice broken, cracked, and dry, not his usual voice at all. He opens his eyes to look at Kelsie for a second, a small smile coming to his face before he grimaced and closed his eyes back, his breathing becoming more even. Jessie stood up and filled him a glass of water, putting it on the table beside him, happy to see that he was awake. For small of moments of time each were pretty good.

Kelsie breathed a sigh of relief and stood up, bending over to Nate's laying down form, giving him a hug, "Don't ever do that to me again, you actually scared me." She wiped the tears away from her face and stood up to give Jessie and Nate some alone time.

Jessie watched Kelsie leave and when to step up beside his bed, as she wrapped her hand in his. "You're lucky you're a fighter. Sacrificing your life like that......" she grimaced before squeezing his hand. "Just don't do it again." And Jessie smiled when she felt him squeeze her hand back, softly but reassuringly.

Kelsie's heart was still beating quickly at the thought of losing Nate, the silly boy she's known since kindergarten. "Was what he was hit by harmful to his body? Like long term wise?" She asked crossing her arms and looking at his co-workers. She hoped that nothing bad would come to him in the future.

Jessie kept her hand with his for a bit longer before she tried to attain her posture back and looked at Kelsie. "Some radioactive waves with bits and pieces of nitrate and heltam, a new chemical that we have been working on that has been proven to be very dangerous to the human body. Very deadly." Jessie looked back at Nate. "And yet some kind of way he is still living after openly being exposed to it. He's lucky to be living. But we have yet to know if it's long term. We don't know anything yet. We have to run tests."

Kelsie nodded, keeping her arms crossed. She wanted to stay for Nate but it hurt her to know he was just laying here, having been exposed to some sort of dangerous substance. "Im going out for a walk...I'll be back in half an hour." She told Nate and kissed him on the forehead quickly before walking out of the hospital. The cool breeze of the night hit her almost immediately after she left the building, it made her realize how much she had been overheating in the hospital. Her tears from earlier now clung to her cheeks, slowly drying off as she walked further from the hospital.

Nate groaned, as he put a hand on his head, before sitting up. He opened his eyes, looking around, his eyes trying to find something. Anything familiar, but then he realized that he didn't know where he was. He threw his legs over the side of the bed before Jessie came in, her eyes happy. She put a hand around his neck before she backed away. "Sorry, sorry, but you're awake!" she exclaimed before taking another step back. "How do you feel" Nate grinned before shrugging his shoulders. "I feel great! Why do you ask? Where am I?"

Jessie sighed in releif and hugged him again before answering, "In the hospital, do you not remember what happened?" Backing up she sat on the bed beside him, happy that she could finally talk to him after a day of him being asleep.

Nate stood up and hugged Jessie back before taking a seat on the bed, watching as she did the same. Then he cocked his head to the side, the thoughts coming back to him of everything that had happened. His eyes widened before he turned to look at Jessie, a surprised look on his face. If everything he was thinking was true, there was no way that he should still be leaving, yet here he was. How? "How am I alive?" he asks.

Jessie thought for a minute of how she was going to answer but every route she took wouldn't have been a fair enough explanation. "No one knows, it's a miracle that you're alive really but we have to run some tests back at the lab to make sure long term damage hasn't been inflicted on your body." She wanted to give him some time to rest but she knew that the rest of them back at the lab are already preparing a bunch of things to run tests on him for.

Nate nodded at her explanation, knowing that if there would have been anything else that he needed to know that Jessie would have told him. He wondered how he was doing according to his records. He himself felt great. He couldn't have been better if he was being honest. He was about to walk to the other side of the lab to get his record before all of a sudden he found himself running into the wall. He sat on the ground, his eyes wide, as he looked back at Jessie, wondering how he had gotten there that fast.

Jessie jumped back in surprise when she saw Nate practically plastered against the wall, "What in-" She muttered walking over to him before holding out a hand, "What just happened? One second you were beside me and the next your face met the wall." She kept looking back and forth from the wall to the bed.
