A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D But wait... What are combo bases?When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal. *Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color! Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group). *Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet. My Citrine king hasn't given Citrine cubs with my own factor based lionesses (my side account). He is 9 years, 6 months old, and was never stat replaced after being kinged, so that base is a true age. (Not sure about others that used him for stud service.) My Ice king has given me 2 cairngorm lionesses from cocoa lionesses, but neither of the cairngorm girls have given cairngorm offspring... they are 9 years, 2 months old & 5 years, 4 months old. To be honest, I love my Citrine king, and put loads into customizing him... ... but I have a gorgeous Clouded Pie that would be stunning with a Cherry Blossom base, and I've been tempted... ... but the Citrine has Choco Freckles 12&3, and I don't want to waste all that event effort that it took to get those, either. 0 players like this post! I'll admit I'm a bit pissy now, too. Especially since I *know* Baroness is aware of this issue, she answered my modbox ticked and took a look at the bug thread to tell me it looked alright, and the thread still isn't marked as forwarded. How long can it take to patch them back in? I mean, it apparently didn't take long to take combo bases out of the scrying stone (and breeding[???]), whoever's [grammar?] decision that was anyway, so what are they waiting for? Right now, I can sell my madagascar cubs for 15gb but who knows for how long that will last once people start to notice how completely and utterly useless they are. Nobody needs to tell me about low rates, even the July bases would pass easier that the combo bases apparently, and that doesn't seem realistic to me. I think I'll create another ticket asking for an update and providing the additional information I've gathered from the bug thread and this one, because as muttduck said, this bug is way too expensive to not get fixed for 3+ weeks. 0 players like this post! Since this has gone no where, I've made the decision to work on a Cherry Blossom replacement for my Citrine. If they fix the bug in the next "5+ years" then I may decide to keep the Citrine looks... but I am losing hope quickly, and my back up plan turns 2 tomorrow, so I couldn't wait any longer on changing the gender to male. 0 players like this post! Last I recall the combo bases aren't supposed to pass at all (which is dumb) so I don't get why the suddenly claimed they can 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh, I see it "Edit: Combo bases can pass if they meet combo criteria, ie. Cairngorm needs at least one of the 8 listed bases to be parent 2." It originally didn't say this, making it really ambiguous whether or not the bases could pass (we assumed they couldn't) It sounds like it's completely FUBAR and not working properly The fact that the base won't pass without parent 2 having one of the factor bases is extremely stupid anyway bt w/e 0 players like this post! Hmmm. So combo x combo is working (at least in the scrying stone). Has anyone retested combo x factor? Last time I did 250 scrys with zero combo cubs but that was a couple weeks ago. 0 players like this post! Like? |
