A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D But wait... What are combo bases?When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal. *Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color! Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group). *Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet. I've been doing some research and I think other combo base breeders might be interested. Sitewide numbers of Combo base lions as per Search feature and cubs sired/cubs born lists as of today: (Dams means females of breeding age; I probably should have just counted those who have had a cub or more but ah well. The total cub numbers are still interesting). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cairngorm Studs: 5 Cubs Sired: 107 Dams: 100 Cubs Born: 116 Madagascar Studs: 5 Cubs Sired: 187 Dams: 32 Cubs Born: 45 Citrine Studs: 3 Cubs Sired: 156 Dams: 35 Cubs Born: 39 Quahir Studs: 2 Cubs Sired: 47 Dams: 16 Cubs Born: 23 Total Combo Base kings: 15 Total Cubs sired: 497 - 0 Combo bases Total Cubs born from Combo Base dams: 223 - 0 Combo bases 720 cubs, 0 Combo Base ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It does seem strange to me not a single cub has inherited a combo base. I'm working on checking the opposite parent's base on those 720 cubs but progress is slow. 0 players like this post! Like? |

My secondary stud is one of the 3 Citrines (he is first listed when searching). I knew none of his offspring were Citrine, but to see that NONE of ANY Combo's offspring are Combo, is very very sad. Thank you for researching that. Can we get that added to the bug topic about Combos? Clicky here. This also makes me more than a tad bit angry that we're polling about new Combos when the current ones are very obviously broken. (Editing to add, that research is likely the final nail in my Citrine King's coffin. I've been working on his replacement - just need Cherry Blossom to unlock.) 0 players like this post! OMG... I just realized, that is the 720 cubs that LIVED. How many breeders are like I am, that get trash cubs out of the server by sending them to the preserve or killing them?? How many hundreds MORE could have been added to that list? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Wenduo, it only works if they are opposite groups, not 2 from the same group. You need group one and two, OR a combo and one of the groups that made it (seemingly glitched and not working), OR two of the same combo (also seemingly glitched and not working.) 0 players like this post! Like? |
