Drago: Kweh! It worked, how exciting just look at that thing!

Vahakin looked quickly at Drago in surprise.

Vahakin: Y-you can talk!?

Drago: Carbuncles can and so can I, besides don’t you have a Mushussu to defeat.

Drago gestured toward the Mushussu that was glaring him down.

Vahakin: Drago, I’m a Black Mage not a Warrior. You want me to fight that!

Drago: Of course! Use that lighting magic of yours, like you did on the Sahagin. I’ll be watching your battle from over there.”

Drago watched excited from the sidelines, as Vahakin ready his Thunder spell against the terrible Mushussu. He prayed this wouldn’t be his end.

Vahakin had resorted to pummelling the beast, having run out of mana. Drago was still lazily watching from the sidelines, cheering him on from time to time. "Hey, ever thought of, you know, knifes?" he remarked snidely. Of course, both of them knew neither of them had thought to pack weaponry. The mushussu reared back, throwing the Viera off of it. Vahakin had run out of ether and none of his smaller spells worked on the beast, and his only options left were to run away or, the other obvious option, asking Drago for help. What do you do?

Vahakin was done by this point, covered in cuts and bruises from his fight with the Mushussu. Vahakin magic was spent, and the Mushussu wasn’t going to wait. He took a breath wiping some blood off his brow. “Hey bird! Get off your talons and help me with this fiend. If I go, then you’re going to be its next meal!”

Bernard is perched on Melio's saddle, you decide to walk instead, the little chick might trip on the undergrowth! The three of you reach Vesperpool, and Bernard is awestruck with the beautiful scenery. You help him down and the two chocobo go chasing one another. You sit there and watch the lake, content to enjoy the peace. You hear something rustling in the bush beside you, huh? You investigate to see the carbuncle hiding in there, one of its paw lifted up as if hurt. 'Oh, hi there! I'm just here, don't mind me, haha.' The carbuncle laughs it off, but you spot a thorn in its paw. You pull out some bandages and cloth. The carbuncle relents, letting you take its paw. You pull the thorn out and quickly dab the cloth on the wound to stop it from bleeding. Quickly, you wrap its paw up in bandages. Voila! The carbuncle purrs, though it resembles more of a fennec fox than any cat. 'Thank you, I would never have lived it down with my kin if they knew I've hurt myself on a thorn. Here, take this, I promised to pay you back for your favour anyways!'

Drago rolls his eyes, "as if!" But he gets up anyways, seeing Vahakin clearly beaten up. While the mushussu had its back to Drago, he stomps on the mushussu's tail, the only part that's clear of tough scales. The mushussu reels back, clearly shocked. Dragon leaps onto the mushussu, prompting the beast to roll over while pecking its head from behind. The mushussu rolls onto its back to shake Drago off only to have Vahakin attack it right after. The two pair earned the upper hand then, defeating the beast with ease. Maybe not a bad wish after all!
