The three of you advance, going along your merry way. Perhaps you'll find it along the way? So far, you've only come across a weird-looking pebble. You've stored it safely in your pocket. You reach Vesperpool in no time, eager to explore the area, maybe you'll find something new today! You take the first two steps out of the woods before Delta and Horizon are pulled back. What the? You turn around, fearing the worst, but you find only a basilisk. You calm down a little before you realise both Tiger and Horizon are at knifepoint. How a basilisk can hold a knife, and how it found it, we'll never know. It caws, demanding something, but you're still confuzzled over the knife conundrum. You snap back into reality when the basilisk start beating Horizon up, which isn't that worrying since basilisks, you know, have feathers for hands. Horizon looks confused though, and you might wanna' help him out before he gets brain damage. Suddenly, you're struck by inspiration, the spirits of Galileo whispering the secrets of the universe to your ear. The pebble, or egg, thing! You pull it out of your pocket and yeet it through the air, forcing the basilisk to leave Horizon alone. The basilisk catches it safely, hisses at you once, then leaves. Well, whatever. Oh, also, you find a chocobo, but that's pretty minor news after your mind-breaking experience.

You go straight ahead, back into the dark. Then something hits you, a flying tree branch? Then you finally register your surroundings. An angry-looking chocobo stares right at you, wondering what in heck you are. Perhaps it's just startled to see someone foreign? What do you do?

You hold up your hands to try and calm it down. The chocobo is a little calmer, but still wary. It caws at you and you take a few steps back to give it space. You pull out some greens you brought along to maybe offer some to it. The chocobo slowly approaches you, it takes the carrot slices from your hand, so that's a good sign. It looks to you for more snacks and you gladly give it another handful of chopped up veggies. Nice! You were able to befriend the birb at last.
We'll take care of 'em now, shouldn't take long :D

Life is short, nothing matters, and the universe is an illusion, so right it is! You stumble through some undergrowth, digging through the woods and into the darkness. Just when you were about to turn back, you feel something tugging your bag. You find a chocobo snacking on the greens that were poking out of it. When it notices you staring at it, the bird jumps back, startled. You hold your hands up, not meaning to scare the chocobo. You offer it some diced up greens and the chocobo calms down again. You managed to befriend it, nice!

The woods is thick with the scent of smoke, but you haven't encountered any signs of fire so far, so that must be good. The leaves rustle overhead and bird calls ring from a distance. Maybe you won't encounter any monsters after all? You come across a wide clearing and the first thing you notice is the horse-sized bird towering before you. Huh. The chocobo tilts its head, curious. What do you do?
