-LOCKED - July Event Adjustments

We have made further adjustments to the July event in line with feedback we've observed since yesterday's Community Update was posted.

* The cost of steps in Celestial Explore has been increased from 2 Meteorite Shards per step back up to 5 Meteorite Shards per step as it was previously. To be clear, the increased Meteorite Shard drop rate we mentioned in the Community Update yesterday is still in place and has not been changed.
* The "Large" trait has been removed from all regular Celestial Explore enemies - Celestial Explore bosses will still have this trait as they are meant to be more difficult to defeat.
* The Starburst Windssrah enemy has had a typo fixed and should now give +1 Axion Core for defeating it as intended.
* If you lose against a Celestial Explore boss, your battle streak will be reset and you will only be able to encounter further bosses by defeating 10 Celestial Explore enemies as intended and mentioned within the news.
* The new Celestial Explore bosses can no longer have Lucky Feet used against them.

5 is way too much Not even with the Intention of making money for me, but with 2 it was fun and actually felt rewarding and like i could get all the items i liked for once, because i don't have much time due to work But oh well, thank you anyway!

The enemies are still so op tho, with the constant misses and stuns.
Even though i'm stronger i can only deal like 10 damage while the enemy takes a chunk of my health with a single hit.
At least give them weaknesses, like maybe some have soft skin, so clawing them would be effective. Or give us a boost of some sort, like in the June event.
I can't count the amount of times I was so close to winning, only to get stunned the rest of the battle, or miss every single attack

Damn, I really looked forward to the 2 shards :(
i usually only win every 3-4 battles even with good stats on my main because of how powerful the enemies are, would’ve been able to get a lot more AC when the lower shard cost

Really wished they kept it at two. Lots of players including myself aren’t able to grind all day and it makes it really difficult. Could’ve made it like 3 at most??? SMH. Kinda don’t wanna do this event anymore.

some numbers from last year, if anyone is interested:

in 2021, multiple people, including me, noted that they were getting, on average, 10 AC per 100-250 MS— this is purely from asking chat, and not an actual perfect representation!!

(or, 1 AC per 2-5 steps in celestial explore. note that in my case, i had a 1k-ish stat king at the time, and i also understood each enemy’s mechanics, so it was easier for me to defeat them.)

keep in mind, that number also includes the MS & AC random encounters within celestial explore— starting with 100 MS and ending with 0 MS, regardless of how many you gain during that time.



i just thought this would be interesting to share! maybe you can compare your current AC rate to what some people got last year. note that i am not stating any opinion on this current event, just sharing some community numbers for reference!

@_Random.Catto_: Some already do have soft skin. Burstlings and Dustlings are susceptible to the "Roar" move, so if you spam that, you can generally get them to run off and win a battle. Wyverns IIRC have soft skin so using "Claw" will defeat them pretty quickly. There's a battle guide on the wiki that shows the most and least effective move for NPCs including the Celestial Explore enemies.

The perhaps excessively generous shard price did help to balance the difficulty of the enemies a bit- if you kept it at 5 but also removed the stun abilities I doubt anyone would mind.
