Jaguar

The male hissed, clearly not happy that the much younger Jaguar wasn’t backing down completely. He roared angrily, leaping off the tree barreling into her. The two hissed and snarling, a flurry of claws flashing and teeth glinting. He pinned her down, pressing the younger jaguars face into the ground. He growled a threat into her ear, and the female jaguar threw him off, landing a hefty blow on his face.

Sayha

Sayha felt blood splatter onto her paw and she roared in indignation. He told her something that was heartbreaking. Fury burned in the depths of her jade green eyes. While the male was preoccupied roaring curses as blood dripped down from his right eye, she ran over to Spice, and stood by her side. Scratches and bite marks bled from her flanks, legs, and neck. Tears rolled down Sayhas face as she still processed the horrible truth the male whispered into her ear. He had killed her mother…

Spice's eyes narrowed, a snarl rising in her throat as instincts kicked in. She hissed and bit the male jaguar's leg, her fangs sinking into skin. This stupid big cat! How could they attack sayha? Adrenaline made her fur stick up on end as she clawed and bit at the male before detaching her jaws from flesh, going back to defend her den, wiping blood from her maw.

Jaguar

The male roared in fury as the otter took a chunk out of his forepaw, he clawed the air blindly unable to see with all the blood covering his eyes. “I’ll come back for you puny cub! Just like I did to your mother.” He threatened, leaping up the tree, and climbing higher until he was out of sight…

Sayha

“I’m going after him.” She hissed, her tone giving away no emotion. She paused, rethinking her decision. What if he came back for Spice and the kits? She couldn’t risk that. She shook her head, “Nevermind, I’ll help you with the kits.” She decided. “I’m gonna clean up, ok? And thanks for helping me back there.” She purred, touching Spices head with her muzzle.

Spice stopped to catch her breath, her eyes shutting for a few seconds. 'You're welcome- you should stay near the den. That jaguar could seriously hurt you..' her eyes flicked to the young jaguar, concern in her gaze. 'Be careful, okay?'

Sayha

“I will,” she smiled, padding over to the river, and dipping her paws in. She sat down in the shallows, drawing her paw up and over her head as she groomed her fur. She bent her head to lick the wounds on her flanks, flinching as blood pooled out of them. There was one worrying one, it was a deep bite wound, were the males fangs had sunk into the muscles of her right back leg. She waded a little deeper into the water so that the blood could wash off the wounds that hurt the most.

Spice paused, watching Sayha for a moment. 'You shouldnt do that, in case a caiman comes.' The otter said quietly, keeping an eye on the water. She kept in front of the den where her kits were, not trusting that that other jaguar was gone.
Korola was backed up in a corner of the den, completely terrified. The sour scent of blood felt sticky, she didn't like it. And the growls, loud noises.. the kit let out a faint squeak and went over to mooi for comfort.

Sayha

“I guess..” Sayha stepped out of the water, shaking out her fur. She was clean, except the wounds that kept on bleeding. She walked over to Spice, flopping down onto her side. She exhaled sharply. She looked over to Spice with her jade eyes. “Do you think he was telling the truth? That he killed my mother?” She asked, batting a beetle away that had crawled onto her paw.

She hesitated for a second, her ears flattening. 'I dont know. Not keen on finding out either, if it means meeting him again. Dont dwell on it, we can find out plenty soon enough. Just regain your strength- i cant let you put yourself in danger.' Spice trailed off, not sure what to say. She looked at sayha's wound, licking the blood off her pelt, briefly pausing to check for anything to cover it with.

Mooi looked at Korola but said nothing. She scanned the water for predators in case her mother was right. She saw ripples in the water, but only from Sayha. Mooi relaxed. "Mama? Is something wrong?"

'No, dear. Just somebody came for a moment, he's gone now.' Spice said gently, nudging the kit towards the den entrance. Her paws scraped against the muddy river bank as she gripped the soil, her ears pricked for any noise of an animal that could pose a threat.

"Oh. Okay." She peeked out of the den shortly before sprinting to the water and belly flopping in. "Gottem!" She squealed before laughing histerically.
