According to the Wiki, "Rosettes seem to be the most popular marking on Lioden currently, due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding. There are tons of user theories and conspiracies floating around regarding how Rosette works, but nobody truly knows—the code has yet to be cracked." Well I have my theories. The Rosette can be random; Of course, our brain is always looking for patterns... But this theory also fits. Her mother is an NCL EHR. What surprised me is that she was actually born with Feline. She swore she would come. Ooh this may indeed be the case! I got my first rosette cub recently (almost didn't even notice at first lmao) and her mother has 2 feline markings :-0 !! The cub has Noctis Rosette in Slot 6 [ https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794162448737 ] My king doesn't have any feline markings, but the mother has Feline 9 Noctis and Feline 6 Orchid.. She doesn't have any marks in Slot 6 tho 🤔 I also wonder if the rosette colours are linked to the colour of the feline mark it passed from? That’s an interesting theory. I just bred my first random rosette cub the other day (she has an Auburn heavy rosette…I was so happy even though I don’t really care about rosettes). I think the feline markings (or even just cat themed markings) being the tie to how a rosette is produced is super interesting, and not impossible (in my opinion). Here’s my girl Yennefer: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794162863840 She’s got AHR in slot 3, and four different feline markings (feline 7 orchid in slot 1, Merlot feline in slot 4, leonid feline in slot 8, and hoarfrost feline in slot 10) Her mum has leonid feline in slot 8 and her dad has feline 7 orchid (slot 1), Merlot feline (slot 4) and hoarfrost feline (slot 10) (dad also has a cheetah marking and mum had a feralis one….so it could just be the cat themed markings as well), so your theory isn’t totally outlandish, I don’t think! The wiki confirms that they aren't random - "due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they appear to randomly pop up in any breeding; however, they are confirmed to have special breeding criteria." There could also be a tie between certain types of markings = certain types of rosettes! For example: lace markings may be more prone/only pass Inverted Rosette and not Heavy, Normal, or Soft rosettes 0 players like this post! Like? |

Neither parents had rosette markings so this was random. Dad doesn't have a feline marking either. You can find the mom and daughter in the den titled Court Vesta.
