According to the Wiki, "Rosettes seem to be the most popular marking on Lioden currently, due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding. There are tons of user theories and conspiracies floating around regarding how Rosette works, but nobody truly knows—the code has yet to be cracked." So I recently bred this: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794166730391 fiery rosette The mom was a normal ncl with 1 mark hidden in slot 11. The dad has a Hibiscus feline but does this count? One or both of all of these lions' parents have a cat-based marking (we gotta find a good name for this classification lmao felid markings is the most accurate, but confuses people. kitty marks???) which fits with my theory that markings based on cat species, extinct or living, lead to rosettes! Also, in each of these examples, there is a common white marking or nose that is prominent in at least one of the parents. Maybe you need white on the lion for there to be a possibility? Alongside the feline markings? 0 players like this post! Like? |

While that is true, I think that might be more correlation than causation?? White markings are so aggressively common that I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a ton of lions without them. also if white was a factor, then I think there would be white heavy/normal/soft rosettes, not just white inverted rosettes 0 players like this post! Hmmm. It's an interesting theory. My spontaneous rosette's father had White Feline Unders, but otherwise no feline markings. Though he also had a Ragdoll base, which is based on a type of cat. He also had an onyx mane and the Ragdoll base is a black and white one, and she got Onyx Heavy Rosette. If it truly is any feature related to felines, I suppose my current king's White Inverted Cheetah would work. It's almost certainly related solely to markings. Base, mane, etc. likely doesn't matter because they pass separately to markings. I'm 99% sure bases and markings aren't tied mechanically in any way (i.e. a base won't prevent a marking from passing and vice versa) All my theory covers are real-world cat-based markings, though I'm not yet sure how color is factored into it. maybe with similar color groups to bases since most markings are base colors. red cat markings = red rosettes. Huh thats an interesting random rosette. The theory I had been looking into was that random rosettes were related to a parent having some type of feline marking(such as feline, cheetah etc.) but neither of that cubs parents have any feline themed markings. Unless could the requirements be different for a rosette vs inverted rosette?? Tis an interesting case 0 players like this post! Like? |
