Wiki entry about Combo Bases

This began as a way to share theories about possible combinations, but then things got way bigger than expected. A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D

But wait... What are combo bases?

When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal.

*Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color!

Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group).

*Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet.

You mean common as in custom special, or common genetics?

Topaz is also an applicable custom base.

That's true. They came out at the same time, too.

Hm yeah I thought topaz is breed only, that makes it two oasis bases.
I mean just commons.

It makes sense cause golden specials don't scry into anything for me, and we know for sure that one group is golden only

But all of the ones we discovered until now are special. The post never says outright they need to be special - that I know of - but... all of them are.

All of them are but I'm sure as hell can't scry anything from the remaining golden specials for citrine.
Unless it's the thing about seasons and whatever that was mentioned

They'd say if they were. Maybe we're looking at things the wrong angle...
I thought that Citrine would need in one side a "gemstone" base - Topaz, Hematite, Opal, Moonstone - and another base in the other side to give it the golden genetics, but Kimanjano proved it wrong. Unless Kimanjano is a not very known name for a precious stone or something. And then there's Fiery...

Qahir is still a mystery. I tried scrying various cream bases - Amber, Buttercream - with Cherry Blossom and Nacre, to no avail. And Lilac didn't show anything either

Maybe we'll be lucky again, and someone will stumble on them in a scrying.

It's a weird coincidence but I scryed citrine with a fiery and Sulphur female, but when I used fiery/Sulphur male with the same combo I didn't get it.
I hope I'm just unlucky, but it's weird

You didn't add Sulphur + xanthic to the main post BTW, we just need 3 more bases for citrine

Did someone breed xanthic and sulphur...? Let me check.

Edit: checked! Sorry, I must have forgotten to add it when you posted it earlier and it got lost.

Looked up the word Qahir and found out their chief export is a psychoactive plant I've never heard of...okay XD. Anyway, Qahir looks like it has either: Pearl, Opal, Moonstone, russet, umber, amber, maroon, inferno, buff or cameo somewhere in it. However, some of these have already found their combos, like Pearl, and so far no base uses the same one as any other. Some also still sit in the same gene base as one of these special special specials, like Amber...so I doubt it is part of it.

This leaves out of the color base categories used some unused ones. Now, cairngorm uses three bases from the same category, Black Countershaded Dark...so I'm not sure how much that actually helps XD. But the unused ones are Black Solid Dark, Black Solid Medium, Cream Countershaded Medium, Cream Solid Dark, Cream Solid Light, Golden Countershaded Medium and Golden Solid Medium. Has anyone given this some thought? Tried bases together from those?

@Seabunny

So far, we tried Lilac x Amber, Nacre x Amber, Cherry Blossom x Amber... and the same with Buttercream instead of Amber, with no results. It could just be Qahir being stubborn, or that we are not using the correct combos.

But the plant thing is intriguing. I tried searching the meaning of Qahir online, too, to see if there was some kind of clue there, and only found the meaning of the muslim name - victorious - or the name of the village, but it did not occur to me searching what the village had. Do we have any special bases inspired in plants of any kind, beyond Cherry Blossom?
