 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

(Its fine and np :D) Byunhyun entered the den, the quiet trod of her paws making small critters skitter away from her. She gracefully swooped into the shadowed den, whiskers twitching as her eyes darted over the cubs that watched her in sudden fascination. She stared at them for a moment, her gaze lingering onto a brown cub with white and black stripes, who held her gaze with the same intensity. They stared at eachother for a heartbeat longer, before Byunhyun turned to Isiphepho, paws shuffling in uncharacteristic excitement. "I'd like that cub." A new king strode through the savanna, lead by an elder lioness, so aged she seemed dead upon her feet. Her skin hung from her belly, teats distended from several litters, but fat still clung to her ribs. The male behind her was young, in his prime, though small. His silvery mane fell loosely about his face, and the muscles in his shoulders were prominent. The elder lioness fell back, allowing him to take the lead as the cave came into sight. His gaze fell upon Isaphepho, and he smiled a soft grin. His pride had dwindled. Not from starvation, disease, or unhappiness. His lionesses had simply grown old and gone infertile. Funny, how fast time slips away. He approached the lioness, his own pride member at his side, and indicated the two red cubs, twisted together in playful combat. A leopon walked inside the den, looking around, and sniffing everywhere. "Hmm... the queen sent me here to find her a cub to match her standards". The leopon scratched her nose, and looked around for the perfect cub. Suddenly, she stopped and saw Penny. She thought (This is the perfect cub!) The leopon looked at the cub, and said "This is the cub i want, shes very pretty, and she fits the queen standards". The leopon shook her tail swiftly, and sat down, looking at the cub, and then she spoke: "Hello, what is your name? And nice to meet you, im Lenore. I would love to have you in the pride". Lenore smiled and then stared at Amabala. "May i get her? I promise, i'll take care of her". ---------------------------------------------------------- Lenore shook her fur, and said, her voice soothing. "Later tonight, the queen will bring a cub here, so if you see them, give them love and compassion, alright?" Lenore licked her paw, and sat down. @Loey Isiphepho nodded. “You are welcome to take her,” she said, giving the cub a lick on the head. Behind her, she heard Vikela mutter something about how they were perfect for eachother, and Isiphepho couldn’t help but agree. Dash, although a bit awkward at times, had a strange, unnerving intensity that matched that of Byunhyun. @Polopony Isiphepho looked from the king to the two cubs, wrestling in the shade of the den. “Of course you can have them,” she said, purring. “I’m glad they’re going together. They’ve become quite close friends in their time here.” @Flurry Penny gazed up at the odd lioness. Was she a lion? She looked and smelled like one, although there was something about her that seemed different. Lost in thought, she nearly forgot to answer the question. “Oh, uh... my name is Penny,” she said. “And, um it’s nice to meet you too,” she added, stuttering a bit. Amabala smiled, pleased to see that the cub had remembered her manners. She stepped forwards. “You can certainly adopt her, I’m sure she’ll do well in your pride.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

Byunhyun's eyes glinted with a twinge of happiness, before fading down to a dull dawn again. She groomed her chest fur as she contemplated what to say, then looked back up. (Sorry my rp sucks, writer's block) "I have three cubs that Suho has sent for me to deliver." She explained coldly, then as if they had appeared from thin air, three cubs stepped lightly into the den with curious looks. The familiar multi-colored female had once again entered the den, it's inhabitants have now become companions for her. Only companions though, for Byunhyun was quite picky with those she called 'friends'. The heiress waved her tail airily to signify her presence to the others, then nudged forward a whiny cub that goes by the name of Insomnia. One of the snarky lionesses of their pride had her sleep interrupted by the needy, clingy little one, thus earning the brown cub the name. "Ah, Amabala." Byunhyun said smoothly despite feeling tiny sharp claws prick at her own paws. Insomnia had now dug her small yet dangerous weapons onto Byunhyun, too reluctant to let go of the slightly agitated heiress, who's right eye visibly twitched as the claws dug deeper. "Could you... Take this cub off my paws? Literally." Byunhyun sighed, her attempt at humor wasn't a joke after all. "Her name is Insomnia and she lives up to her name." It was so unnatural for the female to be so put off and uncomfortably awkward. Even the birds outside were unnerved of her state, halting their cheery chirping from earlier. "I could use a cub to help me." Byunhyun breathed deeply. "Any cub, really. Perhaps the fiery-looking one over there, ah, what was her name? Spark I believe." She attempted to lift a paw to gesture, but Insomnia had now sat upon her with a childish whimper. It was a surprise for Byunhyun not to be committing murder by now, specifically, murdering Insomnia. She truly had a weakness for cubs, and she was revealing it to a lioness that she had insulted subtly a few days earlier. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Amabala stifled a laugh at Byunhyun’s reaction to the nervous cub. The lioness had changed over the course of her last few visits, going from vicious and rude to... not quite friendly, but definitely something similar. After calling Spark over, Amabala pried the new cub from Byunhyun’s leg, passing her off to another broodmother. She gave Spark a quick nuzzle, and watched the fiery orange cub head off towards her new home. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The large king made his way across the savanna. He held himself with confidence and poise, his unblinking gaze fixed on the horizon. A soft breeze would tug gently at his magnificent mane as he opened his jaws in a thunderous roar, alerting the other figures of his presence. The two lionesses that had come with him - one spotted, the other striped - chattered eagerly as they trotted along. He'd come to a halt. "Greetings. My name is Alzark. I hear you are... cleaning out your pride. I am interested in that lioness," he rumbled softly, gesturing to a cub called Burn. Sibro walked into the den, not having visited for a while, but he'd decided to look at what cubs were here now. His gaze fell on Mossy, and he couldn't help but smile at her personality. She'd be the one to join his pride, he decided. A former cub he'd adopted from here, Spider, waas nearby his side. She was no longer a cub, now a young lioness. She wanted to come along with Sibro to visit the broodmothers who'd watched and cared for her before she had been adopted. Meanwhile Sibro padded up to Shelela. "I'd like that cub, if she is still available," He spoke calmly and politely, gesturing towards Mossy, with whom Spider had joined in with playing with the little ones. 0 players like this post! A familiar face poked around the area, looking at her paws as if words had been written there with mud, or maybe chalk. She looked back with her deep black eyes, giving her an almost evil look, but perhaps that’s what got her out of here in the first place. Her jaws went agape as she saw that a good majority of her friends had been adopted, all but Tiger. Playing with him for a bit, she felt a little nostalgia built in her mind. But playing with the new cubs was fun to, and looking for her old caretaker was why she was here. She was no longer a cub or even an adolescent, but a full grown lion with a gorgeous pelt and a wonderful look to her body. She smiled towards her old caretaker, tail curling up over he back for a moment to signal her friendly nature and her manners. “Hi again! It’s been a long time.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

The leopon walked back in again, and a lion with the felis mutation walked beside her. The felis snarled and said "It smells like little cubs in here, and i dont like that". Lenore hit her, and said "Im sorry about that, the den smells wonderful!" The felis rolled her eyes at her, and looked around. Fauna saw a cub, and was looking at a cub named Insomnia. The felis shook her tail, and yelled out "Lenore, come here!' Lenore was playing with a couple of cubs, and says in a calm voice "Im coming, Fauna..." and groaned and shook her fur, she walked towards Fauna and said "What is it?" Fauna smiled and said "Dont you love this cub? shes very pretty, and i would love to have her!"
