 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Whilst his broodmothers tended to the cubs, Karstaag approached with a newly fired up vigor. A few flowers decorated his pelt, blue, white, and black, much like the gargantuan himself, a clear show that he had just came back from a parade or celebration of some sort. His eyes were soft, almost like he had found his lost love after being told they died in a bloody war. He smiled graciously to Imbala, then paused, seeing her grieving and weeping upon the stone in the distance.. His facade slightly broke as his tail went limp, dumping some of the flowers upon the ground. He bit his lip, realizing someone else close to her had died..but he didn’t understand what that felt like. Or perhaps he did, just didn’t know how to express it as he went to Vikela. “Is..she alright?” He questioned, a little onyx cub already in his sights, but he didn’t dare disrespect an ally; he knew all too well what could come of that. @Loey (It’s okay, I just had a cub born with the nurturing personality so I just gotta wait for her to age up) @Devyn Vikela studied the lioness for a moment before nodding. “Yes, you may take her. I’m sure she’ll do well in your pride.” @Romeo Vikela sighed. “Yes, she’ll be okay. Our broodmother Shelela just passed away, and she was the one that helped raise many of us. Her loss has hit us hard, especially since she passed so soon after Isiphepho.” The broodmother seemed lost in thought for a moment, but shook her head and continued. “I’m sure you didn’t come just to check on us. Aphrodite approached her, her silky long fur like both a pillow and a comfort for the sobbing female. Resting her head on her shoulders, Karstaag took that as a sign that she would be alright. He let out a soft sigh, shoulders slacking as more flowers fell off his body; war paint showing through much more. “I’m very sorry for your loss.. I’m sure you could use at least one cub off your shoulders at least; I was here to take upon Katelyn. More of our lions have er..” His eyes darted away from Vikela, then back, “Left. They left, saying I hadn’t done enough for them,” He said, pursing his lip as he curled his tail in a way that would show a bit of a bad taste in his mouth. 0 players like this post! Like? |

This time, it was not Baekhyun entering the den... Suho slid into the rocky shelter, his large frame easily towering over the others, but his fur had lost its shine over the course of months. Pale outlines adorned his facial features, an indication of his fairly old age. He was quickly followed by a few cubs, their ears perked warily. "Hello." The king greeted softly in his low register of a voice, naturally raspy and rough-sounding. This, in his youth, was considered attractive and charming. "I'm here to donate the cubs, as it seems that you have made at least some space. Correct me if im wrong?" He padded closer, steps surprisingly gentle. "I have also heard of Shelela's passing, may she rest in peace." He dipped his head respectfully and gestured for the cubs to come closer. Suho blinked in amusement before continuing. "You must be confused of my presence here." He chuckled, and thanks to the baritone sound, made the ground vibrate slightly. "I suppose I came since I wanted to see the youth again, as... Vikela gazed at the old lion. She had only seen him once or twice, as it was usually Baekhyun who came to visit. The other two broodmothers, Cula and Amabala, had never even met him, as far as she could remember. She bowed her head in respect. “Thank you for your kind words,” she said, before turning away to herd the new cubs towards the empty nests in the back. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(It keeps sending me to the app store D:) Once Suho had disappeared to Apedemak knows where, a few hours later, there was a rustling noise eerily similar to hurried pawsteps. Baekhyun poked her in the den. Latched onto her back was a screeching, wild ball of fur- A cub with several markings, but the most distinct were it's black stripes. Baekhyun seemed to be shuddering like a leaf as she skipped into the den, heading straight for Amabala, her expression contorted into what looked like pain. She opened her mouth, voice tight and barely above a whisper. "Get this- this thing off of me." She seethed. "Blight was supposed to be a late delivery but she... I dont know. Amabala’s eyes widened as she took in the screeching cub and the furious lioness. Grabbing the cub by the scruff of it’s neck she pried it off of Baekhyun’s back, tearing a couple clumps of the lioness’s fur in the process. She had to pin the struggling cub to the ground to prevent her from escaping. Noticing the commotion, Vikela hurried over. She took the cub from Amabala and curled around her, licking her ears until she calmed down a bit. Amabala was used to seeing this side of her, but she guessed that Baekhyun would be stunned, considering their former rivalry. Turning back to the lioness, she said, “She’ll be alright now.
