Banshee smiles and wags her tail. "I thought you might say its up to him but I thought I would ask anyway, just in case it wasn't ok with you, you are the alpha after all and it made me feel better to at least ask you, I would have never had a chance like this in my old pack, You have no idea how much it means to me to be accepted by you and your pack as one of your own, I'm used to cruelty and abuse so it makes me so incredibly happy to be part of a pack that values me" Banshee says.

Dusk looks to Falco before whispering something into his ear. Falco's ears twitch and he steps back, fur resting on his back. "Ignore him. Falco is just easier to agitate. Throw him in water and he'll cool down like a branch on fire," Dusk says and Falco rolls his eyes.

"He's not much of a problem as long as you just don't let him in command of anything. Stubborn as a rock since he was a cub," Elska adds in before sitting down. She scratches her shoulder and Yon stands awkwardly by them.

"Thank you Nanook" Banshee says. Rapture runs towards them which startles Banshee who seems to think he appeared out of no where. "Nanook we encountered Strangers at the border to the territory, Sol and Nightwing are keeping them occupied, However they seem odd in their behavior and Nightwing feels suspicious of them" Rapture blurts out as he tries to catch his breath.

"Alright everyone, looks like we have visitors. Ahanu, stay behind with Kai, Atlas, and the pups." Nanook turns to Rapture. "You stay behind too. Let's go everyone!" Nanook stands and begins running towards the river. Dakota was quick to catch up, and Nanook's children were right behind him. When they all arrived at the river, Nanook saw Sol and the strangers. We walked up behind Sol. "What's going on?" he asks her.

"I think they are looking for a place to stay until the alpha female gives birth and her pups are old enough to move on" Sol replies. Nightwing sighs. "I recommend not letting them join something seems unusual about them, however it is up to you guys, I will be keeping my eyes on them though" Nightwing growls. Sol looks at Nightwing and seems slightly concerned. "you still aren't over that incident are you?" Sol asks.

Nanook hasn’t spoken to them yet but he trusts Nightwing. “No, I don’t think they’ll be able to join...” Nanook mumbles to Nightwing. “But let’s hear what they have to say.”

Dakota was watching them warily. Something seemed off about them but he couldn’t quite figure out what.

Sol sighed and watched as Nanook and Dakota made their decision. Sol gave Nightwing a light growl, but knew Nightwing's feelings had been right in the past before so she didn't put up an argument. Sol waited to hear how the smaller pack would react to them. "I am sorry" Sol said truly she was but she also had a little bit of distrust for the smaller pack.

“Lets head back,” Nanook suggested, turning to return to the densite. The group was right behind him and together they walked back to the rest of the pack.

When Nanook arrived he saw Atlas sitting on the hill and their five newest pups playing on top. Wenona saw her father emerge from the tree line and rushed over to him.

“What happened?” She asked excitedly.

“Nothing, they seemed kind of off so we decided to leave,” Nanook told his daughter.

Sol watched Nightwing's behavior as she walked back to the densite with him. "You wanna talk about anything?" Sol asked Nightwing. Nightwing rolled his eyes. "I don't talk about my problems to anyone, because they are my problems and mine alone" Nightwing replies. Sol sighed, she didn't want to pull the alpha card on him but his paranoia was bothering her and if he wouldn't talk to her she would demand to know.

As Nanook spoke with Wenona, Matsi took in the view of this large pack. He imagined how strong theyd be together this winter. If only they’d joined years ago...

“Nanook?” Matsi asked. Nanook turned to look at his son. “If this group survives the winter much easier than last year, I think it’d be beneficial to begin allowing other packs to join as well,” before Matsi could finish, the alpha spoke.

“It’s never been done before.” Nanook was stern and didn’t pay his son much attention. He didn’t really take the suggestion seriously. Anoki had overheard Matsi’s suggestion and came over.

“You think more mouths to feed would benefit the pack?” Anoki challenged.

“Well, I just think with more hunting bodies there would always be food coming in. And with two litters born at once, Atlas can hunt while Kai babysits. It just makes sense—“

“Wolves have been around for a very long time Matsi,” Anoki exclaimed. “You think in thousands of years this is the worst our species has gone through?” Matsi felt embarrassed. He didn’t think his suggestion would get the elder upset. “Just think, so many wolves have existed before you. Many were smarter than you. You’d think if this were a good idea they’d have done it, hm?” Anoki asked. Matsi said nothing. He hung his head in embarrassment.

“Matsi, it was a good suggestion, but we can’t risk it. We’ve made it this far, we don’t want to take our chances, right?” Nanook was kinder with his words. Matsi simply nodded and walked away, not looking up to meet their eyes.


Ahanu and Kai layed in the den, gently grooming their little boys. “They’re going to be fighters,” Ahanu said with a smile. “Strong, brave, alphas one day.” Kai smiles at her mate.

“And if they are soft and gentle?” She asked.

“Then they will be the greatest storytellers and pupsitters in their pack who will make their alphas proud.”

The pair watched their little one wiggle about. They were the perfect mix of Ahanu’s dark coat and Kai’s light coat. Kai has never loved something this much.

Banshee was sprawled out on the ground in a sunny spot not bothered by Rapture and Sorrow play fighting near by. Banshee let out a sigh and lifted her head to look at them, she wondered what her own pups would be like if she was going to have any. Banshee smiled and look around for Matsi. Her smile faded when she seen him walking away from Nanook and Anoki with his head hanging low. She felt a growl rise to her throat but quickly silenced it. Banshee got to her feet and walked over to Matsi. She greeted him with a gentle nuzzle.

“Hey Banshee,” Matsi greeted her. Matsi stopped when he saw his younger siblings playing. Akela and Navaeh were playing and Paytah was sitting alone seeming a bit down. “Hey, Paytah, what’s wrong?” Matsi asks his younger brother.

“Oh! Nothing Matsi!” Paytah answers in a small squeaky voice.

“Why aren’t you playing with your brother and sisters?” Matsi asked his little brother. Paytah hung his head a bit and said nothing for a moment.

“Can I hang out with you Matsi?” The little pup asked. Matsi smiled and nodded his head. As the two walked together Matsi had to walk a bit slower while the pup ran to keep up. Paytah ran up to Banshee excitedly.

“Hello Banshee!” Paytah squealed.

"Hello Paytah" Banshee said in a soft tone. Banshee smiled and playfully bowed down in front of the pup, her tail was wagging and she looked at Paytah with friendly eyes. Kato had been observing his sister from a distance and was surprised with how friendly and gentle she was being with Paytah. Banshee gently poked Paytah with her paw and was careful not to cause any harm to the pup.

Paytah squealed and giggled as he played with Banshee. As the two played, suddenly, a single white flek fell on Paytah’s nose. The little pup stared at it cross-eyed until it vanished before him. He wiggles his nose, trying to figure out where it went. “Matsi? What was that on my nose?” The little pup asked.

“That was a snowflake Matsi asked.” He watched the pup sit and sound the word out over and over when the sudden realization hit him. Snow. Winter was here. Matsi looked at Banshee, eyes wide.

“I need to go tell my father,” he stated, turning and running to the hill. Nanook sat on top and watched his little pups playing. “Father, there’s—“ before Matsi could say anything, more snow fell from the sky. It was very light, but steady.

Nanook’s eyes widened. Anoki looked at the alpha and Nanook nodded. “Time to call a meeting,” he announced. Anoki turned towards the den and got Ahanu and Dakota. Matsi ran over to Sol.

“Nanook is calling a meeting, he wants you to meet them at the waterfall,” Matsi told her.

At the waterfall Nanook, Anoki, Ahanu, and Dakota sat in a circle.
