So far people can inbreed their lions without consequence but with the addition of mutations I think it would be realistic to have inbreeding cause mutations in cubs too. So if you inbreed your lions theres also higher chance of a cub being born with a mutation

(correct me if this is already a thing)

No support. I personally HATE the studding system as is and rarely use it. Having this in effect would force me to use it to be able to breed my lionesses and it would cost me was too much to do that with 100+ lions in my pride.

XD I'm a bit confused, HearMeRoar

I'm one of those that only uses NCLs...how does that make inbreeding? I get new NCLs whenever my heir takes over and retire the old ones. ALways new blood, never need to stud out to other lions

I'm not faulting your lack of support, I understand the influx of genetic mutations from inbreeding, but I don't understand how using only NCLs willl cause inbreeding

not super important really, though

I think i'm 50-50 on this now. It'd make sense for inbreeding to cause mutations, BUT...it would indeed cause a sudden influx of them

I would actually love to have repercussions to inbreeding, but I don't believe this will be possible until they can fix the bugs that mess with Heritage.

For example, my king has a different set of parents, than the grandparents that are listed on the Heritage of his cubs.

And also, people replacing their kings can cause seeming inbreeding. I actually had a lioness whose father got replaced with a cub from my king, which makes her look like she's now related to him, when she originally wasn't.

So until things like that are ironed out, I wouldn't recommend inbreeding consequences. I'm in favor of it otherwise, however.

On another game that I play on, there's penalties for breeding. The stats decrease the closer in relation the subjects are. But there's some benefit to it, as some pets had a gene that allowed them to not lose any energy if they lost in a fight.

I support this, as it'd be fun to have more risks.

no support and would hope to never see this.. im starting to not want to stud outside of my pride and trying to keep to myself.. that would hurt my game play as well as others who enjoy playing like that and dont believe in the stud system..

I think certain mutations would be great if they were linked to Inbreeding. Things that are recessive so would make sense for inbreeding to cause them more often. Also having cubs born with infertility would be a great use for inbreeding because inbreeding does lower fertility.

Recessive things would be good o3o

Like the achromia gene- it's like albinism, which is more or less recessive 8D

No support. NCLs stats are too low, an many people breed for stats, so no new blood there with the new update because the cubby stats will be low. Studding also costs way too much, and I hate studding.

I want to keep breeding within my pride. I don't want to get low-stat NCLs or have to stud if I don't want mutations.

@Jynn

Some people don't get knew blood and usually want to keep the cubs they have bred to have and so on. That is what I was meaning with it. You may get new blood as soon as your cubs start being related but that isn't what every other does. The risks will also be horrible since wasn't the mutation update suppose to be something to work for and not to have to worry about it within your own pride of lionesses if you don't want it? Anyway, my point was that some people like to keep the blood they had in the beginning of the game and not switch it out for new NCL lionesses.

Or maybe make only certain mutations possible through inbreeding, such as the lethal ones so inbreeding would be something to avoid."

At first I was thinking no because it would encourage inbreeding but then again there would be lethal mutations to look out for.

Maybe a bit off suggestion but I'd like to see some penalties for inbreeding in the way of higher lethal mutation chance and lower fertility. So I support.

Sorry but I pick my males for being good for me, not for others. If others want to stud with them, by the way, that's' cool and I'm not trying to be rude.((And in fact love to get stud requests. x3)) But I don't like to stud with others a lot. The reason I have my males as they are is for me to have males I like to breed with.
Forcing people to stud with others or maybe kill off cubs they worked really hard for? Sorry no support.

I support. My reasoning may be a bit too mature for the audience of this site, but there are too many websites for virtual creature breeding that get, well, boring. Even this one is boring to me minus feeding and exploring once a day because I can breed my lions, buy new lions, but there's no challenge. No consequence.

If inbreeding produced mutations, I think it would add that extra challenge some people enjoy. I would suggest lower fertility as you inbreed or, perhaps, instead of mutations have still-borns. Yeah you can breed everybody and their brother together but when the sister gets bred with her grandpa, 2 of her cubs might be stillborns and the one that survives is low fertility, but healthy and with good stats or such.

To be 100% honest I am big into mutations, and would be OVERJOYED to see a cycloptic cub in my lair, or just anything to do with mutants and would chuck a ton of SB to grab them. Would I breed for them? Probably. Would I sell them? No. Because unlike most sites, these lions die.

Sorry, rambled on a bit. But you have my support!
