So far people can inbreed their lions without consequence but with the addition of mutations I think it would be realistic to have inbreeding cause mutations in cubs too. So if you inbreed your lions theres also higher chance of a cub being born with a mutation

(correct me if this is already a thing)

No support. We have plenty of items that boost chances of getting mutations through breeding, and there's still a chance for random muties to show up when breeding. We don't need inbreeding to play a factor in producing muties.

I've always wanted inbreeding to do something, so I support
It would make the game more interesting imo

I guess if that is implemented in recent years, all of my Queen’s cubs with Chasity will be deformed in some way. They both have 10 instances all together xD

i strongly support! and for people who say it would hurt their gameplay because they only breed within their pride, how about this:
inbreeding gives a very small boost (maybe like the same level of boost as a 1% female does to a mutation) of ALL mutations? that way, yes, you're at risk for a lethal mutation, but you also have a boosted chance for things like primals and pies, which help your pride, rather than hurt it?

this just seems too realistic for it to not be in the game, especially with lions that have like 20 instances of inbreeding in their immediate heritage xD

Most lions are already super inbred. That small boost might ruin the mutie market even more tbh

No support. Causing inbreeding or clean breeding to have in-game effects is something I will never support. Clean breeding is a made-up challenge that people make the choice to participate in, just as inbreeding is something that most people participate in because they don’t care about bloodlines. Neither should have in-game effects at all. Sure, the mutie market is shit already, but people who choose to clean breed shouldn’t suddenly be at a mutation-breeding disadvantage.

And as a side note, forcing penalties (such as decreased stats/fertility, or increased chances of producing shitty bases, as some people in this thread have suggested) upon people who inbreed would be... extremely screwed up.

TL;DR — No support. Don’t punish people or put them at a disadvantage for playing the game the way they want.

1. This would prob ruin the mutie market EVEN MORE. Even if it was like, a 1% boost- do you realize how many inbred lions there are?

2. This feels like punishing people who work hard to keep their lions clean. It would absolutely fuck up the market for clean lions, and punish those who've worked so hard for clean-lined mutie kings, etc. and would absolutely destroy the point of heritageless lions, like groupies.

(So basically what Shadow said, yeah)

BIG no support.

It would make sense for it to rase the chance of a Lethal mutation and leaving normal mutation chances alone

We don’t have many Lethal mutation cubs in comparison to everything else, it would most likely just be 1% more likely anyways.

I’d rather not up the chances of getting a lethal mutation that I have to pay 1k SB to get rid of, no matter what the chance is raised by.

I think its wise to consider that this would only work if the parents actually carried a mutation beforehand. You see this in dogs a lot. For example, over the past 100 years, people started inbreeding boxers to get that nice boxer face, but a few parents had genes that made cancer development easy. If these dogs hadn't had those genes to begin with, the cancer wouldn't be prominent today. But since dogs are so heavily inbred today, the gene pool is smaller meaning they're more likely to carry genes that, in combination with a relative's, could produce something awful like hip dysplasia or blood problems.

Long story short, this would only be plausible if someone in their immediate family, say a male who breeds to his sister, had a mutation of some kind. And even then there is no guarantee. It takes generations of inbreeding to have any affect on the offspring.

And in people, inbreeding won't usually lead to random mutations (it can, though) the babies are simply stillborn, so if you were to suggest something more realistic, add the chance for there to be stillborn Cubs the more inbred the parents are, just so that mutations remain rare.

Support for sure, but the idea needs work.

no support, sorry!
people would -purposefully- inbreed, and as a clean breeder thats already kinda a hard job to get a clean lion..
also, the game states it doesnt have an effect, so it would be weird to change this!

if you do want an effect, it could have a better chance of them being.. stillborn.
