"Let Russka out. He can go check. He is the fastest of my pack and an excellent scout. He can go out and check it without being in much danger. If something is out there he can run back quickly into the protection."

Dahlia considered MidKnight's words. "I guess he can go check." With a flick of her wrist, a hole appeared in the shadow barrier big enough for Russka to fit through. "Then he better be fast."

Russka bounded through quickly. He bolted off towards the scream becoming a brown streak in the dark.

Dahlia closed the barrier as the wolf left and looked up at the sky. "Too many stars tonight." She said.
Max laughed, "Look at you, staring up at the stars while our lives might be in danger." He shook his head, but smiled.
Dahlia shrugged, "Who knows. The Spectre won't let tonight kill her, Froster." She knew how much Max disliked being called the Froster but she said it anyway. The way Max glared at her every time was almost hilarious.

(At the scream)
The ruins of a once beautiful building kept the blonde haired girl trapped as the monster stalked closer. Her power would have been useful in the light of the sun, but here, it was useless.
The monster lunged, it's claws digging into her arms as it raised her up in the air. It opened its jaws, revealing jagged teeth that could rip throuh almost anything. It seemed to smile as it let out a screach and hurled the girl at the ground.
Her body lay lifeless in the ruins, yet another killed. The monster crouched down to feed, but in the distance, more screaches could be hear.

Russka ran into a building. He slowed down and stained through to where he heard the sounds of movement. A monster had killed. He spun in his heels and stalked out the building. He ran out.

Dahlia kept her gaze on the sky as she waited for the wolf to return. She turned to attention to Max, who seemed to be impatiently tapping the ground this his foot. It wasn't a surprise when he looked at MidKnight and asked, "Is he coming back yet?"
Dahlia sighed, "Or we can go out and look. I can't hurt, can it?"

MidKnight "He should be back any second now"
Russka bounded up and barked to be let in.

Dahlia parted the barrier to let the wolf in and motioned for Max to sit. "Can you ask him what happened out there?"

Russka came in and spoke in canine what happened
"Translation for your 2. He saw a monster killing a girl. When he left it was about to feed on the body. It ripped the girl to shreds easily and she didn't use any sort of powers to fight back."

Dahlia frowned, "Typical. Maybe she was too scared, but that's one person dead." She turned to Max, who just shrugged. Sometimes she thought he didn't care about who dies and who survived as long as he made it through.

Max looked at the wolf, "Do you think it would have attracted any others to the area?"

He barked again.
"He didn't see any but the amount of blood He was smelling would likely attact more. Plus it was in a buliding so they could have been other potienally nearby to it."

Dahlia cursed. "Well that's great," she said with a roll of her eye.
Max didn't seem worried at all, "What do you think about going out and hunting some down? We can't sit here all day."

A few of the wolves barked.
MidKnight smiled at their barking. "We have to go out eventually anyway."

"So why not now?" Max asked with a wide smile.
Dahlia sighed, she clearly hated this idea. Max whispered something to her, no doubt reassuring her no one would die. Dahlia finally reluctantly nodded, "Fine, but don't blame me if you die."
Max shrugged, "You'll still be able to talk to me even if I die." He winked at her before walking to the edge of the barrier.
