Snowdropleap buried his muzzle back into Doefeather’s fur, feeling a sneeze coming on as the singular hairs tickled the surface of his nose. He let out a quiet sigh through his nostrils, not wanting to get up. A loud rumble emitted from his stomach. “Ugh.. I don’t want to get up.” He groaned, rolling onto his back. He peered over at the other cat, gently pawing at their forehead.

“Time to wake up, Doefeather,” Snowdropleap chimed, grinning. Doefeather’s fur was a mess, but it was.. beautiful. ’Beautiful? Beautiful. What’s caused me to think this way? I’ve only known him for a day!’ Snowdrop thought to himself.

He grumbled and swatted a paw at Snowdrop's, slowly sitting up before his eyes widened

He jumped up, quickly realizing what had happened last night, how he slept so long and slept so well. [ "I'm so sorry! I didn't- i didn't realize!" ] He squeaked, puffing out his fur as he stumbled out of the nest

[ "You just.. you looked so cold and i felt bad and-" ]

“It’s okay, Doefeather.” Snowdrop chuckled, sitting up and neatly coiling his tail around his muscular stature. “As long as you swept well and I didn’t freeze to death — I don’t exactly care.” The medicine cat shrugged, before realizing what he had said. “W-well, yeah.. Ehm..” He said sheepishly, angling his head away from the other tom shyly.

He shuffled his paws on the ground before he caught scent of a fresh patrol, somewhere near them but not close enough to notice them

[ "We should get going.. before dawn patrol finds us." ] He said quickly, looking around them for any actual sign of the patrol besides a few jumbled scents

Hitching his pouch around his neck, he pivot turned around. “Let’s go, then. Before the two of us get seen together.” Snowdrop said, his tone firm as he began to lope off. Would his clan mates question him of his absence once he returned? He sincerely hoped not. Shuddering at the thought, he subconsciously quickened his pace, probably accidentally getting ahead of Doe.

He scrambled to catch up with the larger cat, stumbling on a few still damp leaves as he avoided a few upturned and showing roots. He didn't realize how much faster Snowdrop actually was, he just assumed he could walk and run the same speeds as everyone else

He sniffed the air again and it hit him, they were walking towards the patrol. The scent was still farther away, luckily [ "Snowdrop'Leap! Come back!" ] He hissed

The tom swiveled around, unaware of the faint RiverClan scents wafting through the air. “What is it?” He questioned, cocking his head to one side and perking his ears. “Is everything alright?” He asked, padding back over to Doe and towering over him.

[ "We're walking towards the patrol, they're just up ahead." ] He said slowly, looking up so he could properly look Snowdrop in the eyes [ "You gotta hide somewhere, they'll be moving soon to mark the boundaries over here." ]

“I’ll hide in the tree trunk,” Snowdrop nodded. “But if I get any cobwebs in my fur you’re taking them out.” The medicine cat teased, leaning down and head butting Doefeather on the shoulder playfully.

Turning around, he sped walk over to the tree trunk, dipping his head and squeezing through the entrance. He continued to try and shoulder through, but his body would not budge. “Shit!” He hissed. “I’m stuck!” He yowled, trying to get out of the trunk. His heart pounded. Panic welled up inside of him. He could not get caught by a RiverClan patrol, not today or any other day!

He whipped around and hurried towards the trunk to help Snowdrop out. He latched his claws into his hindquarters as gently as he could and tugged but immediately let go once the other didn't move

Suddenly, he heard a loud voice and almost snapped his neck from turning it so hard
[ "Doe'Feather! There you are. Where have you been?" ] Condescending, voice like honey, he despised Pine'Snake. His fur bristled a bit as he squared his shoulders and puffed out his fur, hiding the cat behind him to the best of his ability

Lowering himself down to the ground, he hid behind Doefeather’s hind legs, trembling with fear. He hoped the RiverClan warrior wouldn’t detect the scent of fear that rose from him. He also hoped that this cat wouldn’t pester Doefeather, either, as he still needed those herbs.

He watched as Pine'Snake studied him, looking him up and down, his eyes taking into factor every little detail about Doe. [ "Where were you?" ] The tom repeated, a slight growl in his voice

[ "I was out hunting and finished too late. Lost track of time and fell asleep, i was gonna go grab my prey and head back." ] He explained, the lie bubbling in his throat. He hated everything about the other tom, he was tall, muscular, was he taller than Snowdrop'Leap? He wasn't sure, maybe they were the same height

Annoyance bubbled up inside of his chest. Wow, that tom was pretty annoying. He felt bad for Doefeather, and wanted to assist him, but knew he couldn’t. He let out a hushed growl, shuffling his big paws against the loose soil.

His paw jerked back and he kicked Snowdrop, a warning for him to be quiet. Pine'Snake glared at him

[ "Stop running off, Doe'Feather. Anyone would think you're trying to run away. You're treated perfectly in Riverclan. You better get back to camp soon." ] The tom growled, turning around to head back to the patrol but not sparing Doe of a smack to the cheek with the tip of his tail

Snowdropleap snarled, leaping up to his feet once the rather rude brute left. “Asshole!” They hissed. “Next time they come around I’ll give him the taste of his own medicine.” Snowdrop growled, bunching up his shoulders and crouching down, as if he were about to pounce on an imaginary enemy.

Straightening his posture, he turned back to Doe. “Are you okay?” He asked, inspecting the place where Pinesnake slapped him on the cheek.
