He was oblivious to the other cat watching him, his mind blank with nothing more than static as he stared up through the trees, his pupils blown as he watched the smallest sliver of moon in between a few leaves

He suddenly jerked his tail away, a small ghosting feeling of something on it as he subconsciously scooted a little farther away from the fallen tree, blinking slowly

Staring at Doefeather for a little longer, he peeled his gaze away from the warrior and instead glanced down at the nest. Lifting himself shakily up to his paws, Snowdropleap carefully placed each paw into the nest, circling around it for a brief moment before plopping down with a grunt. They curled up into a tight ball, their thick tail wrapping around their bulky frame and resting atop of their nose. He tucked his paws beneath his chest, resting his head onto the bottom of the nest.

Doe finally snapped out of it and glanced over his shoulder to watch Snowdrop'Leap, his head tilted a bit

[ "Is it big enough? Or warm enough? I can go get some more if it isn't to your liking." ] He stumbled over his words for probably the millionth time tonight, standing to sit beside the nest and watch over the medicine cat

“It’s fine, Doe.” The white tom asssured him. “As long as I’m able to fall asleep, I don’t exactly care what condition the nest is in.” Snowdrop purred, giving Doefeather a small smile. “Don’t stay up too late, or you’ll be exhausted in the morning.” He muttered, closing his eyelids.

He fell silent, nodding as he acknowledged what Snowdrop said. He yawned and curled up beside the nest, directly next to it but a little further away than the log

He watched the ground quietly, his ears twitching every so often as crickets filled his mind. Sounds enhanced around him, blaring in his ears as he focused on each and every one, his eyes darting in different directions

Snowdropleap had already fallen into a deep slumber, his whiskers twitching every so often to indicate he was dreaming. The large tom began to shiver after a little while, perhaps the moss wasn’t so warm after all. Letting out a quiet murmur of complaint, he shoved his snout into the side of his pelt, seeking for some type of warmth.

His head turned towards Snowdrop'Leap, his ear twitching as he slowly brought himself to his paws

He stood over the cat for a few moments, contemplating on if he should actually do his. He let out a low grumble and shifted in beside Snowdrop, laying on his belly with the medicine cat's back against his side, and his tail drooped over the other's back

The big white tom subconsciously snuggled into Doefeather’s side, letting out a small purr. Unbeknownst to him, that was not him randomly becoming warmer, that was quite literally Doefeather he had snuggled his entire body into the tom’s long and insulating fur. Welp, he’ll figure it out in the morning.

Doe snuggled against the other as well, puffing out his fur so they could both warm up. After a few moments, he closed his eyes but struggled to fall asleep, noises blaring and echoing in his ears

He reached his paws up and pressed them against his ears, pressing them down into his skull as it muffled a few of the noises, but barely

The sleeping tom continued to purr quietly, resting his head atop of Doefeather’s back and burying his muzzle beneath the layers of the mystery fluffy substance. (A mystery to the sleeping giant) Snowdropleap murmured something quietly in his sleep, grunting.

He curled up a little more, now pressing against the other's back more comfortably and letting him rest his head without straining it. Resting his head on Snowdrop's paws, he finally felt himself slowly begin to fall asleep

The big white tom began to stir quietly, letting out a soft groan as he slowly lifted his head from where it laid atop of Doefeather’s spine. Glancing down, his fur heated up. They were so.. close to each other. Snowdrop purred, a grin forming on his maw. Doefeather looked so peaceful..

Blinking groggily, it took him a few moments to take in the fact that it was the early morning, and the sky was a pale indigo. The sun took its sweet time to rise above the horizon, its small rays filtering through the tree tops and casting a beautiful glow across the landscape. A faint breeze ruffled through his fur, making a sudden chill run down his spine. If he listened in just closely enough, he could hear a very hushed noise of the trickling of a nearby stream.

He grumbled a little in his sleep, shifting around until he could properly hide his face in Snowdrop'Leap's fur, purring quietly

Doe shivered subconsciously when a cold breeze hit them again, ruffling his fur a bit as he groaned, slowly waking up
He blinked open his eyes groggily, raising a paw to wipe at his face as he licked his lips. Still unaware of who he was up against, he curled up a little more and tried to go back to sleep, he hadn't slept that good in a long while
