He chuckled quietly and followed the larger tom, his fur puffed out against the air
[ "It might get colder tonight." ] Doe mumbled, primarily to himself as he looked up through the trees, the sky had gotten much darker and was now almost black, except for a few stars and orange-ish streaks

[ "Uh.. do you want me to get some moss for a nest? It'll keep you a little warmer, even If by a little bit." ]

Snowdrop uttered a few curses beneath his breath, lashing his tail. “Of course it’ll get colder tonight.” He grumbled, flattening his ears against the sides of his skull.

“You’re lucky to have long fur,” Snowdrop remarked. “But, I’m sure I’ll be.. hopefully okay with the moss nest. Even if it only helps a little bit.”

He watched the other, chewing on his lip as he tapped his paws on the ground before opening his mouth to speak. As soon as he opened it, a lump formed in his throat and he stayed quiet, clamping his jaw shut
After a few more moments, he tried again

[ "I can.. lay with you if you want." ] Doe said quietly, it felt weird to offer but he did anyways, shuffling his paws against the ground as he stared downwards

Snowdrop stared at them blankly, his face heating up once more. “U-uh..” The tom trailed off for numerous heartbeats, staying silent as he pondered about it for a couple of moments. “I.. S-sure.” He responded after a while, feeling a tad awkward.

His tail twitched and it slowly lowered, feeling it brush across the leaves, stirring a few up

[ "I don't have to, it's okay-" ] He quickly said, almost overlapping with Snowdrop's agreement but catching himself just seconds before. He watched his claws, his paws twitching a few times as he splayed them out, he made it seem like he was inspecting them from afar

“Here we are,” Snowdropleap half-grinned, stopping himself abruptly. He swished his tail, turning his head and peering over his shoulder. “We’re here! The log’s much bigger than I thought it’d be.” The medicine cat said.

Doe kept his jaw shut as he quickly followed the medicine cat, looking at the log with a grimace. His nose scrunched up at the thought of spiders and worms and all the bugs that might be living in the damned thing

[ "Yeah.. it's bigger than it seemed." ] He agreed, shuddering as his tail twitched from in between his legs

Snowdropleap stepped closer to the fallen tree trunk and laid his handcrafted pouch on top of it, silently hoping that no animal would steal it during the night.

Pivoting around, he padded back over to Doefeather. He arched a brow, noticing his tail tucked in between the cat’s legs. “You alright?” He asked.

[ "Yes- Yes, I'm.. awesome." ] His voice was small, he felt tiny as he imagined all the legs, the big, beady eyes [ "I think I'll pass on going inside the log.. i don't like bugs." ] His voice dropped to a whisper at the end

The white feline gave the tom a sympathetic look. “We can sleep outside of it, then.” He told him softly. “We’ll just need to gather a bigger hunk of moss, that’s all.” The medicine cat said in a reassuring voice, giving Doefeather a kind smile.

“I might freeze to death, but I’d rather you not die from getting spooked by a spider. I despise creepy-crawlies, too. Kinda.”

[ "I won't just die! Oh gosh, they're soso creepy! With all their legs and eyes and fuzz and- and-.." ] His legs trembled as his lips quivered, just imagining them made him so anxious and terrified
[ "What if a worm pops up? Or a spider?! Or- or a centipede!" ] Doe almost wailed, his eyes widening almost comically at the though of the particular bug

The medicine cat rested a paw atop of Doefeather’s left shoulder. “Doefeather.” He said firmly. “I will be there the whole time. Plus, the bugs will probably be frightened at the appearance of me. I’m a giant.” Snowdropleap joked about the last part, hoping it’d enlighten the fluffy cat’s frightened mood.

[ "Okay but, if a bug shows up, I'm-" ] He caught himself before saying he'd run away, he definitely couldn't do that, he'd be leaving Snowdrop on his own.. [ "You gotta kill it." ]

The tom placed his paw back onto the ground, letting out a purr of laughter. "I'm not exactly a skilled bug killer, but I'll try my best." Snowdrop said, jokingly. "Now, let's focus on the "collecting moss" part, eh? We can worry about the bugs later when we finally settle ourselves down." Snowdrop tittered, flicking his ear.

[ "Yeah.. follow me, I'll show you where the best spots are." ] He purred, quickly whipping around and trotting off, but glancing behind his shoulder every so often to make sure Snowdrop was following

[ "There's a fallen tree up here by the river, it collects a bunch of moss in between the rocks and on top of the bark." ] Doe explained, an opening slowly coming into view
