He blinked a few times, his claws digging into the soft soil beneath him [ "Doe'Feather. My name's Doe'Feather." ] Doe finally choked out, feeling a lump in his throat begin to grow
[ "We should probably hurry." ] He said quickly [ "Before it gets darker, hen neither of us would be able to see." ] He chewed on his lip quietly, waiting for Snowdrop'Leap's reply patiently as he watched the horizon above them through the trees, it was truly a beautiful sight

"Doefeather.." Snowdrop echoed quietly. "What a nice name," The tom purred, before quickly quieting himself and turning his head away in embarrassment. Mousebrain! Snowdropleap hissed at themselves underneath their breath. "U-uh, yeah, let's go." The medicine cat grumbled, whipping his slender body around and padding off in the direction to where the Twoleg nest was (hopefully) located.

He felt his fur puff out at the comment before shaking himself and scurrying after the medicine cat

Doe grew silent besides for heavy breathing as they walked, he glanced down at their paws and stumbled a bit, trying to get in step with Snowdrop'Leap as the faintest scent of twolegs and kittypets wafted through his nose
He finally succeeded and walked in step with the other, though trailing behind just the tiniest bit

The medicine cat slowed down his pace so Doefeather could catch up, giving the warrior's long coat another sideways glance before focusing his gaze on the terrain that laid out before him. "So," The tom said out of the blue. "What's RiverClan like?" He asked, curious.

"It's alright," Snowdrop replied, clearly distracted as he trailed his gaze across the shrubbery as they walked by them. "Though, I had to treat two kits who were vomiting all over the place because they had one too many frogs. Foolish kits." The tom rolled his eyes, though he did feel bad. Something similar probably would've happened to him as well if he did the same thing.

[ "Our medicine cat had to treat two kits as well, they thought it'd be a good idea to have a fish eating competition. It was disgusting." ] Doe shuddered at the memory, the clan stunk for days after that [ "Luckily, they're okay now. They're actually apprentices! Their names are Bead'Paw and Fish'Paw, Fish'Paw is actually super tiny so it seemed like he got smaller-" ] He suddenly grew quiet, glancing at Snowdrop'Leap with a frown as he felt another story bubble up

An amused purr rumbled from the large cat. "Go on. You can continue your little story." Snowdrop gave him a small nod, smiling gently. "I'd love to hear the rest of it. So, Fishpaw is tiny but it seems like he's gotten tinier, hmm? I suppose he hasn't had a growth spurt in a long while." The medicine cat joked.

His tail shot up and he purred loudly, immediately going back to his little ramble once the medicine cat gave him permission
[ "Well, he probably hasn't grown in a while. He's still the size he was when he was 6 moons, which is funny because he's almost 8 moons now. His parents are huge as well, big fluffy cats i must say. They tower over me, everyone thinks Fish'Paw isn't actually their biological kit." ] He stumbled over a few words, but got the story out nonetheless
[ "But- back to what i was saying, Fish'Paw seemed to get even tinier after the incident. It was hilarious, him and Bead'Paw were confined to water voles and tiny mice for a while until their bellies could handle fish again." ]

"I was like that too when I was little," Snowdropleap chuckled. "I was tinier than the average kit, and everyone thought I wasn't related - biologically - to any of my kin because everyone's a giant on both sides of the family." The tom explained to the fluffier feline, a smile still on his lower jaw. "But, after a few moons passed, I had a sudden growth spurt and became even taller than my mother. So, you never know, maybe Fishpaw will get taller!" Snowdrop purred optimistically. "Poor things, though. I think I would've hated life if I was a RiverClan cat and I couldn't eat fish for a long period of time because I was being foolish."

[ "Yeah.. they definitely hated it, they constantly complained and almost devoured the entire pile when they were finally given permission. And, i guess I can't really relate to that.. I don't really partake in the gossip, it's terrible listening to it, poor Fish'Paw. My parents were both equally big and small, i get my fur from my mother and height and ears from my father. I was honestly kind of hoping to be Fish'Paws mentor, he seemed to really like me, because he said he could relate to me." ] His voice dropped and he glanced at the cat again

"I envy your fur," Snowdropleap said with a disdained sigh. "You're lucky to have it. You don't have to hibernate in your den for the whole entirety of leafbare because your fur isn't so short it can't even produce a winter one." The tom mumbled, tossing a pebble across the path and watching it fall flat onto its backside. Turning his head, the medicine cat gave Doefeather a friendly prod in the shoulder with a large white paw. "I'm sure the two of you could be friends, right? And if their mentor ever falls ill, you can help out and substitute for them, yeah?"

[ "Well, i envy your fur. It'd be awesome to have short fur in Riverclan, it's not too ideal having to swim with long fur because it gets tangled so easily." ] He chuckled with a dramatic sigh
[ "And, I don't know. His mentor isn't exactly.. fond of me." ] Doe said quickly, chewing on his lip again as he slowed to walk in step with Snowdrop'Leap again, his paws itching for some reason as moonlight shined in through the trees

Snowdrop arched an eyebrow and slowed down again so Doefeather and him could walk in unison. "How so?" He inquired. "Have you two ever gotten into a fight, or..." Snowdrop trailed off, his eyebrow still raised. Doefeather's previous remark about him being envious towards Snow's fur sailed right past his head, but he somewhat acknowledged what Doe had said. 'Both of our pelts help and also don't help us, who would've thought of that..' Snowdrop thought to himself, stifling a smile so he wouldn't seem odd to the other feline.

[ "He kinda finds me.. annoying." ] Doe shrugged, his tail waving in the air when the other slowed down, finally in step as they walked

[ "I don't know, he probably wouldn't let me help out with Fish'Paw. And either way, Fish'Paw's been pretty distant so I'm not too worried about it." ] He said, looking back up as they stepped through a particular looking ring of moonlight, he found it very pretty how Snowdrop's fur practically shined in the light
