Snowdropleap
Snowdropleap felt the rancid stench of fish become a tad bit more faint, which relieved his flaring nostrils and scrunched up snout. The medicine cat went back to humming the nursery rhyme once more, putting a pep in his step as he went. This was the most content he’s ever been, and hopefully his calmness doesn’t distract his focused mind. Snowdrop was determined to edge the nest just as the sun began to lower itself into the sky; and possibly reach his camp later that evening.

The scent of cat grew stronger, so overwhelming to the point where he halted himself in his movements abruptly. Snowdropleap warily glanced from side to side, knowing he’d have to keep vigilant. What if this warrior were to chase him off, without realizing the medicine cat was innocent and just trying to get herbs? The thought worried him. Gulping down the lump that formed in his throat, he kept moving, though very slowly he did.

He pat the raised ground, flattening in a bit as he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. He picked up the scent of another cat, it was faint but it was there

Doe quickly looked around, nervousness overwhelming him as he pinned his ears back, what if one of his clanmates were watching? That would be so embarrassing. His tail twitched as he continued to whip his head around at abrupt noises, his head swarming with anxiety and thoughts as he imagined what cat could be there, watching him probably act like a jittery fool

He dug his claws into the ground and felt a whimper build up in his throat, the sunlight was slowly disappearing from the sky, which just made it so much worse

Maybe the tom should just notify them why he’s there? That would probably save him an ear. Turning around, he lowered his head and sniffed the ground like an eager dog, following the scent trail which lead him to..

Oh. He cocked his head to one side, gazing at the RiverClan warrior from afar. They looked just as nervous as he did. Carefully, the medicine cat crept closer to this stranger. Usually he could tell who they were, possibly from seeing them at gatherings or whatnot.. But.. this cat didn’t look very familiar.

Snowdrop stood there, not exactly knowing what to do. Should they say something? Perhaps tell them why he’s there. He blinked, lashing his tail from side to side anxiously.

He felt something bubble up in his chest and he let out a shaky breath, looking around frantically before sitting down and squeezing his eyes shut, he needed to calm down

Doe breathed heavily, hitches in his breathe here and there as he struggled to get it under control. He began to count, slowly but surely he finally got to the last number and felt himself beginning to relax. To be sure, he looked around himself and began listing off random things around him

Bush, buried fish, water vole, trees, big overhang rock, pebbles. He continued until he finally calmed down, at least the most he could. He looked around himself slowly, trying to catch the cat who seemed to be lingering but was unsuccessful, it had gotten a lot darker

The lanky feline stepped up behind the warrior, sensing their anxiety. He flattened his ears against the sides of his skull, hesitantly lifting a paw. He kept it in the air for a while, pondering if they should give the RiverClan warrior a gentle prod at the base of their tail so they could give him their attention. Snowdropleap just wanted to assure them he’s only getting herbs, if it even mattered.

Letting out a shaky exhale through his nostrils, he reached his paw over and gave the base of their tail a light tap. “E-excuse me-“

Doe let out a yelp, whirling around to face the stranger
[ "Who- who are you?!" ] His eyes widened as he looked up at the larger cat, how could one be this tall? His thoughts whirled, his pelt was pretty. Suddenly, a familiar scent smacked him in the face

[ "You're ShadowClan!" ] He exclaimed, his hackles raising, just in case. His fur bristled as he narrowed his eyes at the cat, his claws digging into the ground as he watched them, half with curiosity and half with fear

Snowdropleap’s piercing yellow eyes brightened up with alarm. “Sh, shh!” The medicine cat hushed him, backing up a little. “I am Snowdropleap, the medicine cat of ShadowClan. I mean no harm.” The snowy-white tom assured the warrior, his ears pinned. “A-are you okay? You seemed.. pretty shaken up.” Snowdropleap chuckled sheepishly.

Doe'Feather continued to stare up at him, his eyes were rather pretty but very unnerving. A chill ran down his spine as he finally, slowly but surely, relaxed. [ "I'm fine." ] He grumbled, his paws trembling as he tore his eyes away and glanced around him, looking anywhere but Snowdrop'Leap, or at least anything he could land his gaze on

[ "What are you doing here?" ] He finally asked after a few moments, his tail twitching as it hung low to the ground

Snowdropleap curiously observed the other feline's long-furred pelt, silently envying how long it was. "Herbs," Snowdrop murmured a response, keeping his bright yellow gaze on the warrior's pelt for a few more heartbeats before focusing his eyes back onto the RiverClan cat's once more. "There's a Twoleg nest at the edge of your territory that I must find before it's moonhigh, though.." Snowdropleap paused, taking a moment to raise his muzzle towards the darkening sky; the setting sun painted it a bloody red. " - It won't be long before the moon is at its highest point in the sky." 'I'll have to come here another time if that's the case.' The shorthair thought to himself, lightly tapping his front paws against the soggy grass.

He followed the Shadowclan cat's gaze up to the sky, watching it as the moon became more and more visible against the bright sunset. His ears flicked, he should probably head back to camp soon

[ "Uh- do you need help getting there? I can walk with you." ] Doe said hesitantly, unsure on how the medicine cat would react but he thought he should offer anyways [ "You'd probably be safer, especially if a patrol comes.." ] His voice trailed off as he caught himself before a ramble, quickly clamping his jaw shut and looked back at Snowdrop'Leap

"I suppose I could use some company on the way back to my territory," The tips of Snowdrop's maw upturned into half of a smile. "It's getting pretty dark, and my vision isn't exactly as good as it is during the daytime." Snowdropleap frowned a little, his vision was getting worse by the day, though he didn't exactly know why or how. He wasn't even that old, either.

Glancing around him, he peered down at the small pile of dirt. "Do you have prey hidden under there? You should probably collect it before another animal does, or it rots." Snowdropleap suggested, motioning a paw towards the heap of mushy soil.

[ "It's just fish. It's deep enough in there, don't worry." ] He said, glancing at the mound before turning back towards the cat. His eyes were weird, but Doe'Feather couldn't help but find them pretty, and easy to get lost in

[ "Do you wanna head towards the twoleg nest and then back to your territory? Or just back to your territory?" ] He asked slowly, fumbling on a few words but he got the question out regardless

The white tom pondered about it for a long moment, casting his gaze idly across the terrain as he thought. "I think I'll go to the Twoleg nest first, then back to my Clan." The feline gave him a curt nod. "I'm already here, right? It'd be a waste for me to just leave." Snowdropleap shrugged, raising a paw and shaking dirt particles off of it. "Are you okay with that?"

[ "Yeah, that's alright. Do you know where to go?" ] He said as he dug another small hole in the ground, cringing at the feeling of dirt beneath his paws but pushing it aside as he covered up the water vole
[ "I've seen the outskirts of it here and there, so if you don't know, then I'm happy to lead you." ]

"I think I have an idea where it is," Snowdropleap hummed, fixing his gaze on to the now darkening sunset, watching as the sun dipped below the horizon. "But I would greatly appreciate the help," The white-furred tom said once he focused his attention back onto the other warrior. "By the way,.. I don't think you ever told me your name." The medicine cat tilted his head to one side. "What is it?"
