 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

The small lioness, Hailey, pranced in a cave happily. she looked at a cub, who seemed to almost be a lioness. She walked over, feeling pity for the lioness who is almost grown and not in a loving pride yet. Centauri perked up as Hailey's shadow appeared over her lowered head. Hailey widened her mouth to the biggest smile, and Centauri smiled back. The chatter around the cave almost drowned her out, but she yelled loud enough to where everyone heard her say "will you join my pride, Centauri?" August walks around looking threw the cubs in hopes for a u ique and beautiful cub for his mate to adopt, spotting a very unique and beautiful cub august walks over to it and talks to it after finding out the cubs name he walks over to elysium and asks "is the cherry blossom piebald girl adoptable? The scents of all these cubs was curious; it seemed like far too many for one king to be fathering at once! following the trail until he reached the cave, it registered with him this must be the nearby Nyumbani shelter he had heard of, where cubs searching for homes were adopted by suitable prides. His mind flicked to his own first children, who he had adopted from that tree so many cubs were abandoned at... there was always room for a few more in his pride, right? Trying to push back his eager smile, Issa padded over to the nearest lioness, clearing his throat to catch her attention and lowering his head to show he was friendly. “Hello,” the king’s voice rumbled. “I am here to welcome some young lions in need of a home into my own.” A group of intricate and eye catching pelts from inside the cave momentarily grabbed his attention, and he watched them play for a moment before gesturing in the direction of Canopus, Chamomile, Hyena, and Silver. “Those four lionesses, do they have homes? Walking alongside the newest adolescent of the pride, Shadowfall paused before a broodmother of Nyumbani with an expression of mild uncertainty. The male was certainly visibly intimidating, with saber-like fangs, a bobbed tail, and a large, shaggy mane that gave the air of a less civilized being. His eyes were beady and pink, though they expressed only slight embarrassment at being forced to run a task more fit for one of his Pride's own broodmothers. Molly, nestled at his side, seemed slightly abashed; having only recently been brought into the pride herself, she was surprised to find that she'd been sent out with Shadowfall to adopt more cubs. When Shadowfall spoke, his voice rumbled like a growl. "My King has been on the look-out for more cubs, as of late. We need more future hunters and wives... our Pride only recently started to expand. Would you mind if we took some of them?" Gaze scanning over the clusters of cubs behind the she-lion, his gaze softened slightly at the sight of a bobbed-tail cub with too-long fangs. Molly, however, looked sympathetic towards another adolescent that looked to be even slightly older than she. Pressing as high as she could, the young lioness muttered into Shadowfall's ear, and he nodded slightly. "These four, actually," He decided, motioning to those that he deemed appropriate.
