 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Ghostkeeper silently patrolled the area, searching for any creatures that might need help or need to be put out of their misery. He walked silently, not making a sound on the jungle floor, being careful not to do anything that might attract unwanted attention. Mainly poachers. He walked into a small clearing, and he saw a group of cubs and adolescents. He saw Vikela and approached her. He bowed his head at the broodmother, wanting to show that he meant no harm to anyone. Ghostkeeper looked around at the cubs and adolescents and noticed only a few of them looked related, like siblings, and that none of them looked like their broodmother. “They’re looking for prides aren’t they?” He asked, his voice was soft and guarded, showing only a small amount of sadness for the cubs. He knew what happens out in the jungle. The thought of what happened to these cubs mothers and prides saddened him. He noticed a particular adolescent, she had a grey pelt with dark grey stripes and royal blue eyes. Ghostkeeper watched as she tussled and played with the younger cubs, and pounced on her unsuspecting peers in a mischievous manner. “What’s her name?” He asked, showing interest in the young adolescent. Eiden wove through the brush, watching for those that needed aid, pausing when he entered the clearing full of cubs. He dipped his head in greeting as Vikela approached, showing he meant no harm. "Are all these young ones seeking prides?" He inquired, saddened by the thought of these young lions having lost their homes and families to the cruel hunters and poachers. Looking around, two adolescents caught his eye, one pale grey with off white splotches and dark, practically black eyes and the other deep reds and browns with similar splotches, though with eyes that almost seemed to glow red. Once again the plain but scar covered brown lion approach, looking around at all the cubs, smiling to Vikela in greeting. "My queens have said they can care for more, so returned hoping to give a couple a place to call home." He motioned to one with with white paws and red spots and two slightly similar, obviously siblings, grey, black, and white cubs, "we have the space and food for another three, and they caught my eye." Peacock, the lioness in charge of taking care of all the cubs of the Othawa pride, would enter the cave in search of an adolescent lioness to train and care for. After observing everyone for a long time, a lioness catches his attention; Juniper, a lioness with zebra lines and spots, 1 year old who was playing with some lions. -He approaches Juniper and says; Hi little girl! what's your name?- -Juniper? Nice name! ^^ do you want to come home with me? Merlyn padded over to look at the cubs. He spotted a couple of adolescents. They looked like they'd make strong, skilled hunters for the pride. He dipped his head respectfully to the brood mother watching over the shelter. "I'm hoping I can take Snake and Vampire home as huntresses with me?"
