Hi! Just some quick lore for now. So, the pride Sandy runs used to be servants to the goddess bast and now focuses on destroying enemies of lions and bast as well as becoming a top pride. I usually change my lore for every event but one lioness stays the same; sunset. She’s a priestess of high power and great intelligence. I’ve just thrown something random together for now. Bye guys!

Bigmemes: Whatever works for you is great! It’s often much easier to think of your own place so you can mold it based on your needs. Glad I could help! Also, I love that design so much! I’ve always been a big fan of the veils, and you did a great job of matching the decor to the personality and backstory. I like how you made the veil part of her lore, explaining why it’s beneficial for her to be unable to see. I would love to hear more about her and her daughter, and how the family’s devotion to Seth has influenced them. For instance, is their relationship strained because Sphinx feels her daughter isn’t following the family way? Is her daughter perhaps less violent/war-like than her mother, which is why she chooses not to follow Seth as much? I’m also very curious about her sisters when you get to them :)

ajax: Hello there! Thanks for joining us! I love that you have a structure for your pride. Even though I’ve only vaguely established this for mine, I find that having set roles can help you to keep your lore coherent with lions coming and going frequently. Your roles work so flawlessly together, and have a lot of potential for story building. I have a couple of questions, because I’m very curious about how you’ve set this up:
1. Where do augur’s abilities supposedly come from, and how are they chosen? Is it a birth ability? Does it run in families, or is it gifted by spirits/divine powers?
2. How are all roles viewed by a majority of the pride, and how do they interact? For instance, do divine keepers ever envy seers, are augurs respected as well as feared, and so on.
I love what you’ve done, and I look forward to seeing you expand your lore!

BoneFangBloodScar: Woowee, look at all that! Very nice. I loved the story, and I loved how much you went into your king’s personality - I like that he’s an open and emotional lion who is nonetheless very strong. I also like that you incorporated your king’s decor directly into the story, and introduced a major secondary character (Lupos) who is important to your pride. Your lion’s divine ally, Taiko, is wonderful, and I like that you kept very closely to the pride’s connection to wolves. The story flows well, is fairly simple, and includes many interesting elements. It piques my interest, and I really want to know more. I have a few questions for you. First, I’m curious, do you have any further lore on this necklace? For instance, who was it cursed by? Why does Taiko want it? And why is the curse not breakable unless an alliance is made? I also want to know more about how the pride relates to wolves. For instance, you called your king an alpha. Do they have a structure like a wolf pack? How often do they work with wolves? I’m also curious if Lupos is your WolfPlay alpha, just because that’s what I first thought when I read it.

Claws-of-death: Hi there! Okay, first off, I am very interested in the fact that you change your lore for every event. Like, do you do a complete overhaul or just change a few key details? Because, man, if I had to change it every month I would go crazy, so I have no idea how you do it. And secondly, if you do have more lore for this month, I very much want to hear it! And I definitely want to know more about your main lioness Sunset. For instance, in this event does she become related to Bast, or does she go completely unchanged every time?

Hey. I recently returned to Lioden after several years of hiatus. I've always loved writing and character creation, so this time around, I've decided to try out some of the pride lore and lion bio stuff.

I'm still figuring out what I want to do really, but I've written a story for my den page as a kind of intro to the pride, and I've made bios for my King, and sub male. I'm planning to create bios for the lionesses that I plan to keep in my dynasty once they pass, for either beauty or sentimental reasons. I'm still deciding how I want it all to go, and so there's a high chance I'll edit those bios a bunch more.

The way I've approached my pride lore is similar to Bigmemes actually, where they're just kind of an average pride of lions. I mean, kind of. Lioden average, where there are Egyptian gods, and full blown rabies can be cured. I've recently named my pride, the Placid Pond Pride, after their home, a lake called Placid Pond, which is completely fictional. I've been working on making things waterhole themed, like I chose the waterhole for my territory tile, and I've been getting waterhole and water based backgrounds.

The plan is for the lore to grow with the pride, and for it to be heavily influenced by the game play. So right now, I'm still with my first King, so the story goes that he started the pride. When I change to my next king, it will shift to having him take over the pride. And any lionesses who experience the transition, their bio will be split, to how they used to be with the first king, to how they are with the new king, etc. Lioness bios are going to be tied in with their in game personality, as well as loosely with the pose I've chosen to show them off, and possibly mutations or markings they have. Like I said, I'm still just starting out, so I have a long way to go.

I plan for my side account to have similar, but separate lore. Their pride territory will be in rocky hills, and an elephant grave yard, and the general feel of the pride is going to be a lot different. More scattered, less structured, and generally more wild.

I enjoyed reading through everyone else's stuff. It's interesting how there are such different takes on pride lore, and the whole span of stories being told. Sorry if I don't mention you by name, it just means I didn't have any comments or questions.

Sentient Being; The story on your den page is really interesting. I was curious if Windward was ever a real lioness? I checked your dynasty but she doesn't seem to be there. I wonder if he ever told his pride what happened, if they would even believe his story?

Sadie_Saiph; You must be excited for the July event! I'm sure the storyline could help you flesh out exactly what your lions believe in, if you want it to be tied to Lioden lore anyway. I think the July lore makes the most sense for a space connection. The decor could probably help to inspire you too!

Ajax; I didn't read through any of your dynasty stuff yet, likely save it for another day. Can't wait to see what your remodeled lore looks like. You said they were the crucial roles, so does that mean your pride contains other roles as well?

BoneFang; I don't play Wolvden, but I was curious if you do. It'd be pretty cool if you had connected your Wolvden and Lioden lore like that.

Sorry for the mammoth post. I also I was wondering what the idea behind the clan Hoard is. Are there certain things or types of things we should aim to donate?

Aj: Unfortunately, while my dynasty lore written, it's all really old—but I'm glad to hear you're going to take a look at it! Thank you! I'm excited to write it, I just have a few other things to work on before I get started ^^.

The pride doesn't necessarily have other major roles per se, other than its king/queen, but hunters, broodmothers, warriors, and the ruler's harem are all other roles a lion or lioness may fulfill! Of course, there a niche, sometimes temporary roles that pop up in the pride's history but I haven't yet written those.

Ajax; That's fair. I'm sure you'll post about it when it's ready. :)
Oh, that makes sense. Warriors is an interesting one. I think of my lionesses as hunters or broodmothers, but I hadn't thought of like defenders. Curious to see what the niche roles will be.

Aj: I love the writing in your den bio! It's short, tidy, and gets across everything we need to know in an interesting way. I read your sub male's bio, and I loved it! I like the laid-back style of writing which makes me feel cozy and as though I know the lion. I also love that you have images in your bio. Makes me want to do the same thing - maybe I will one day. I definitely look forward to knowing more about your main lionesses! I've always been a big fan of natural and water-based decor and looks, so I also look forward to seeing how you decorate them :) Also, thank you for taking a look at mine. That's very nice of you. The story is admittedly longer than it should be, so I'm grateful that you read it all. No, I never did have a lioness for Windward, since story-wise she never belonged to the pride. And I decided after some contemplation that he didn't tell them, which is another reason some of them are very angry at him.

Sentient Being: Thanks! Once I start working on the lionesses I'll see if I'm going to keep the same format or go back and change it. I also had the idea of like... updating the bio once I change Kings, after making that, so I have to decide how that's going to look.
The decoration for my ladies will stay pretty simplistic. I don't like adding decor to my girls because I strip off scars constantly from hunting. So I've decided to go with poses and backgrounds. Though, I think I have decided to dedicate an animal companion for each, and attach those right before they get retired. Could be anything from butterflies to a crocodile, but I haven't decided on any of those yet.

It was long, but a good story. I actually read through it yesterday when I was waiting to be accepted. Ah, it makes sense that Windward wasn't a real lioness then, I hadn't considered the fact that she wasn't really in the pride.

Hello! My name is Dishcow. This is my lore for my pride:...

Quick Reminders: "The Sewekoppige lig", meaning seven-headed Pride name comes from deep origin: the seven lionesses who formed the pride from working together as different blood.)

An ancient time ago, far into the East of African lands, a small pride cowered away from the Sun, instead laying weakly into the shadows. A large, scarred, and elderly lioness sat against a stump, her eyes squinted against the heat waves outside of the shadows. As she watched the land before her, a younger lioness greeted her from afar, before walking to the old lion. "It is far too dry and hot to hunt, Nirabi. Our young members are exhausted..." She'd trail off, resting next to the old lioness.
Nirabi would dip her head, her eyes calm. "Then we hunt another Sun. Let everyone rest, Freya." She'd say, her voice rumbling and wise. Freya smiled, and nodded. "Thank you, Nirabi." Freya would pad off, her creamy fur now becoming fuzzy against the heat.
Nirabi sighed, her ear flickering against the constant nap of flies. She craned her neck, looking at her side. Nirabi's belly bulged against her ribs, and it's size made it hard for her to walk. The lioness was pregnant- at 9 years of age. The ancient Sewekoppige blessed her with her first ever pregnancy, but Nirabi was old, and feared that she would not be able to look after her own cub.
She lapped her shoulder, before heaving herself to her paws wearily. This cub would be powerful, and lead the pride into salvation. She looked to the sky, and pleaded quietly..: "Please, Sewekoppige... Please let it be a female."...

***The birth of Rugbye***

Nirabi yelped, her eyes wild with pain. The pride gathered around the elderly lioness, their fur spiked with excitement, fear, and hope. As Nirabi let out a short squeal, her head rested onto the cracked ground. A red figure slid out of Nirabi, it's body small yet muscular. One of the older lionesses grabbed the newly born lion, and lapped the damp fur. Everyone stared at the newborn, happy and quite confused on how it survived. Nirabi weakly brought her head up, looking at her newborn. "Is it a female?" She'd ask, her voice tight and brittle. The lioness glanced at her sadly. "It's... a male. Should we kill him now before he smells us?" She's frown, and the pride would follow, their eyes suddenly dark with sadness.
Nirabi let out a wail, her muscles cramping. A long moment passed as Nirabi thought. "We will keep him. I don't care about tradition anymore. He is special- and perhaps we can grow stronger. No, we shouldn't kill him." She'd growl. The pride stood, shocked. One of the younger lioness spoke up. "But... It's tradition! Your mother was the Sewekoppige! Does this mean nothing to you?" She'd ask, her brows furrowed. A few other lions agreed, chattering silently. Nirabi yowled. "Enough! It's time we change. If you didn't forget, my mother spoke to the Sewekoppige through her dreams, though she was never admitted into their group!"
After Nirabi had said that, the pride went quiet, glancing at the cub. The lioness who had cleaned the cub, looked at Nirabi. "What will his name be?" She'd ask, her eyes brighter than before.
Nirabi smiled. "I wish to name him Rugbye, after my first love, and only mate." She'd rumble, her tail twitching happily. Freya, a younger lioness, looked around, and roars in triumph. Silence followed, before others copied, their roars of welcome echoed throughout their territory.

Welp thats it! Kinda rough but still figuring out the lore. I hope you enjoyed!

KaijuKat: Sorry for the late reply, but yes i will say it was by chance, but if you ask her she will that it was fate.
The story I have is as a young cub Sphinx was a curious cub but she was not careful about it, she was out somewhere and it was geting dark, and as she tried to find her mohter, the den, or shelter, she fell into the gound, and in the hole she was now in, was a strange cave ( this is a temple, not the one that we (the event storyline) was in. The idea i am going with here is the when the gods where at the peek of popularity (or had the most worshippers) there was multiple temples built to hold these worshippers so they can do ther worshipp-ing. but then it was left to crumble.) Sphinx as the curious cub she is, whent to investigate. The entrens only viseble becuse of the moonlight form the hole, But then poff light, the touches that was on the walls lit up like magic, and of course as a cub she dont questian it and gose exsploring in the strange cave. To her the writhing on the walls are just some funny looking drawings but that was one thing that she choud read:
Seth
She dont know why and i dont think we will never know why but she choud, she can, of course she figures that its a name but whats the face she wonders, no matter for her, Shes a cub, she spends the night in the strange cave, the next morning her mother found her in the hole somehow.
After this incident that has been weird things happening (i think most people know where this is going), some of this include but are not limited to: hearing a male like voice say directions when lost and then finding a path to where she wanted to go or "under the log" when looking for something. she kinda accepted these things early adolescent age. All the way through adolescent age and beginning of young adult, Sphinx did not make the connection, not until her asking the voice or returning to the strange cave/temple

Here is where its gose fogy and unfinished so that is what i have :D (sorry for any speling mistake) crap theres a secound page i did not see

2nd replys I hope its ok :)
Sentient Being: The reply above is sphinxs backstory but her daughter is maybe a diffrent story, her story is not done but what i have is:
Sphinx and Starlit, They dont hate each other i belive that they have an alright mother/daughter and i choud argue that sphinxs is a good mom not the best but still good, she did try to convince starlit (when she was young like newborn young) that seth is the one true god but was qulickly snaped out of it before real strain choude happen. Starlit was almost like her mom when she was cub, curious, well that what you whould think at first glanse but starlit was more fearless of something new, she was barve and bold ready to help, some of the cubs called her super star becuse that. Sphinx is a little sad that her daughter is not a follower of seth but is happy that is that her daughter is following someone that is close/In the same type of god (Egyptian god), But i dont think she really follows him but admire him, who is he well its Anubis, I dont now much but with what i read i think he fits best :)
(ps i know that starlit dad on lioden is FatherLion, but for the sake of the story he is not starlit actual dad)

also This is what starlit looks like
image.png

I do hope that this answers some of it

now to sphinxes sisters i have 2 of the sisters base story ready and they are Arrow and Hush. Light dosent have much decor or story rn, I think i will tell ther story in a diffrent reply (cus when i am posting this i am tierd) but never mind that i will tell a little about ther mother Thorne, she is a gentle soul but was again not the mother if the year, she was clumsy, forget things easly, and her case of having four cubs did not make things easy, thats why theres many disappearances with her cubs, take sphinxs being out late then faling into a hole and spending the night there. Dont get me worng she tried but sometimes she wish that she can blame the cubs for how there acting (if you get what i mean) but she cant becuse ther cubs! They dont know anything better, of corse she started to ask for help form other lions who where wiling to help, but suff still happend. Thorne sometimes wonder if she was a bad mother but the lionesses she calls sisters says that shes not.

I think that all my barin managed to cough up today ;D

Aj: You definitely have to keep me up to date with how you update your lionesses then! I know you asked for some help with formatting in the help thread, and I'm gonna take a good look at that as soon as I have the time - hopefully tonight. I understand not wanting to add decor - stripping off the scars annoys me so much. I just gave up on Honeymilk - she's only supposed to have certain scars but figuring outwhich ones to strip drove me crazy. I love the ideas of having one animal companion each. It's so adorable! Were you going to have a story for how each met or some pride lore explaining why each has one (spirit companions, trained "pets," ancient tradition, etc.)?

Dishcow: That's a great story! It summarizes characters, traditions, and plots that are vital to your pride lore very succinctly. I really want to know more about Nirabi, to be honest, and about her backstory leading up to this. I'm very curious, like Aj, about this tradition of killing male cubs. This doesn't seem totally outside of the realm of possibility for a realistic lion pride - many prides banish their male cubs. What other traditions does this pride have? How many of these have fallen away now - are they still very traditional, or was Nirabi's choice the start of something new? Of course, I'm also very curious about the seven founding lionesses, but I'm not sure if that's something you want to go into detail about. You don't have to elaborate on anything you don't want to, but I thought I'd ask you and see how your worldbuilding expands :)

Bigmemes: Aw, those are great stories! You did a great job of linking all of your lions together, which I must admit I haven't been the best at. I like that you kept some mystery about Sphinx's connection to Seth instead of going overboard with details and taking the magic out of it. I also love the decor you did for her daughter - Anubis has always been my favorite. So pretty. If you are worried about spelling or grammar mistakes (if, for instance, you want these written down in their bios), you can easily find an editing software or website. I would also be happy to do some edits for you, but you can also leave them as is because I didn't find them hard to read.

Hello everybody! I'm not the best storyteller or writer out there but I'm going to still try. My pride doesn't have much background or stories to it, but I do like to make up little stories about different pride members and how they fit in (or don't). For example, one of my stories includes 2 sub males and the king's daughter. The males are Fissure (which you can see in my pride) and Aspen (who was killed, as I like to think, in battle with a rival pride) while the lioness is called Silver(also still in my pride). They both like Silver but Fissure actually tells her while Aspen keeps to the shadows. When the rival pride attacked, Aspen was killed defending Silver and her newborn cubs (their father was NOT Fissure). In his last breath, he let out his feelings for her and told her he'd watch over them when he was dead. Silver was heartbroken and never took a formal mate, which started unrest in the pride. She and Fissure became close friends, but Silver didn't get over Aspen, so Fissure supported her however he could. He vowed to take whatever measures to make her his mate. But deep inside him, Fissure started to crack. He began to realize that Silver would never get over Aspen, so an uneasy peace settled over the pair. To this day, Silver dreams about Aspen walking into her cave, laughing and joking, stating that this was all a joke. She'd wake up thrashing and screaming, dreaming of his death.

So yeah, that's pretty much it.

hello! my name is snowwy!
im still figuring out some of my lore but here is a gist of it: a dragon-lion hybrid, named cassius. was bored one day since they were immortal and had traveled all of the world for hundreds of years. so they circled back to africa, which is were they assumed they came from since that is were they had their earliest memories. and they find a "new" species that reminds them of themselves, minus the dragon features. they become really excited and try to make friends but they are an outcast because of their dragon features. but one day a lone male lion, named peak(that was just kicked out since he came of age) found the cassius alone and tried to be friends. cassius was wary but in time they became best friends. peak was supposed to find a pride to rule but didnt want too since he felt complete with just him and cassius. cassius was hunting on another prides land by accident and was attacked by the king, he killed him in self defense. the pride didnt have a submale so the lionesses didnt know what to do next, so peak stepped up and became the pride's king. he hoped cassius would stay with him but cassius was a traveler and didnt feel comfortable staying in one place so long so they parted ways. cassius passed by to visit whenever he went to africa but never stayed. at the end of peak's life he gave peak a gift, he would have the choice to wonder in spirit-form. this affected the pride because they learned stories of the dragon-lion hybrid but never saw him so they treated him as some sort of god especially after the gift he gave peak. even a hundred years later they still worship peak and cassius, even if they havent been seen in those hundred years. so a young cub, named theurgy(u can see him on my page) doesnt believe in either of them. he becomes king and outlaws any worship of them. so a group of young lions within the pride plan to take him down to get back their religious freedom. this is what i have so far for my lioden pride. but peak(more known as summit peak) overall is a very influenceable character in my stories, he brings the gods to rule over my warrior cat fanclans and helps cure a plague in my canon clans stories.
sorry if this is a bit messy.

Sentient Being: I don't mind stripping the scars... free items are free items. But it would drive me nuts if I had decor on my lionesses, which is why I don't do it. Haha. Oh gosh, yeah, I can't imagine trying to keep just specific scars.
I don't know if I'm going to add any story to the animals. As of right now, I don't think I will. The animal companions will just kind of be a nod to, or like a reflection of the lionesses personality. So like my curious lioness will have a curious fanloka, and my prankster mischievous lioness will have a false cobra.

Kion: Whatever you like doing is the right the thing to do. There's no one way or right way to do any of this.
And wow, that's quite the story! Who's the third guy in Silver's life? The father of the cubs?

Snowwy: That's some deep lore! Ancient half dragon gods. So is Theurgy going to be your next king?
