I've been on Lioden for about 5 months now but I've just found this clan and got excited to find more people who have an interest in creating stories! I don't claim to be an expert in writing, but it is a big passion of mine and something I want to do in the future, possibly full-time

I absolutely adore the stories yall have written for your lions and some of the lore is fascinating. The lore for my pride is nothing special really. I took a similar approach to Bigmemes as my pride started as a more traditional one. However, that is soon to be changed

The pride was founded by a lion named Saburi, who was exiled from his former pride by its leader, after challenging him for the throne. The young lion got severely bruised and scarred during the battle and he would have certainly died in the unforgiving desert heat if it wasn't for the help of a loner lioness. The two first became hunting partners, then best friends, and finally, they started feeling something more toward each other, which eventually led them to create their own pride (the lioness was named Aina after she became Saburi's queen).

They found an idle location for their camp which they called "The Peaceful Spring". It was at the foot of a large canyon, with a waterfall that supplied water to a small waterhole (too much water in that sentence, I know XD). The whole camp was fenced off from the rest of the territory by a circle of baobab trees and rocks, where some caves have been dug in the ground for the pride to live in. Some caves are also etched into the wall of the canyon, an example of which is the royal cave, where the current queen and king reside.

The territory itself is larger than just the camp. If you were to assume that the camp is up north, then to the south you would have the desert, which was dubbed The Haunted Prairie by the pride. If you were to go east, you would find yourself heading toward The Primordial Jungle, a large rainforest where the Primordial Spring is located and the spirits of ancestors would whisper to you from beyond the mortal plane. You can also go west and find yourself in the hunting grounds of the pride, mainly the savannah, and if you'd decide to go further you'd have reached the border with a land that is unknown to the pride as none of them have dared to enter there yet. What they know is that a mountain separates them from what is on the other side...

Ok, I got a little overboard with this so I think I'll stop here. If any of you have questions regarding what I wrote here, then feel free to ask Remember though that this is just a wip, and may change over time. Again sorry for the long comment, I just got a little carried away XD

Sentient Being: OMG I'VE GOT IT! I've changed my minds about the animal companions. They will have a connection. They're 100% going to be like spirit guides / encounters. Because the lionesses won't be getting their animal companion until they're about to die, and I plan to edit their bio so it makes sense... the animal companion is going to be their connection back to the world. So their bio will read like "A false cobra crosses your path, and a chill runs up your spine. You swear you hear the growling of a lioness.". I'm so excited about this now, and probably wouldn't have thought more about it without this thread. So thanks!

Meg: Long comments are pretty common here. And nice. I like that you've created different parts of their territory and it definitely feels like something ominous might be coming for your poor lions from the great unknown.

Don't be hard on yourself at all about what you consider your level of writing to be - I love your ideas and writing, and there's no reason for you to say you're not good at it :) I love the story you have! Often I get so caught up in the lore and bios of my pride that I forget to have them interact. Your inclusion of the three characters is wonderful, and the continuation of the story even now is great. It's a great story, and I definitely want to hear more stories that you have for your pride!

snowwy: Hello! I love the story you have, and the beginning of the two "deities." I like how you connected the otherworldly and somewhat-divine Cassius with this world by giving him a friend and ally, Peak. You story spans so far, and I also really like that you've already planned out what's going to happen in the future. I'm very curious, what does spirit-form entail? Is it an actual ghost form? Is it a sort of possession where he can communicate through willing vessels? Is it more subtle, with divine guidance and cryptic signs? I definitely want to see how the war against Theurgy plays out, and what becomes of the pride, and is Cassius gets involved. I'm also curious, do you have any connection to your current king?

Uchawi: Greetings and welcome! I really love how much thought you put into the location of your pride. I think it helps to make your pride feel more permanent, adding things like this as well as personal info about lions. I also love the sweet and simple beginning of the pride and the romance. The image of their camp is so serene and comforting. I'm wondering, do you have an idea of where in Africa this would be? I'm always curious, because I did some research on African geography when I first got on here. Also, don't worry at all about long comments. As Aj said, they're pretty common and much appreciated. I'm so glad you're so enthusiastic and into this clan!

Aj: That is an awesome idea! That way you can connect them to your living pride in an interesting way, and have a reason for the animal companions! That also gives your pride an interesting connection to other animals, which is an added bonus in my opinion. I'm so glad this group could inspire you! Sentient Being: thanks! it is a ghost-form, though they arent visible to normal loin, some lions are born more spiritual and can see them without training, but most train years to be able to see ghosts in the waking world. most living can be contacted in dreams. when animals die they either reincarnate(if they lived a fulfilling life) or they wander looking for a way to reincarnate(finishing what they had to while living, most cant and are stuck wandering). when peak died, he was set to reincarnate since he lived a pretty fulfilling life but cassius stopped peak's soul and taught him how to stay attached to the earth as just a soul. since peak was fulfilled he wasnt as gloomy as other wandering souls. he can technically "possess" other bodies, but he wouldnt and he doesnt know how too. he actually strayed away from his pride so he doesnt know what is going on. i think he just might come back when a mysterious someone(cassius) tells him what is going on. my current king, mimosa is theurgy's dad and was sort of cruel. theurgy's mom, pepper was hyper-religious. theurgy grew to dislike pepper's obsession and looked more toward his father for his beliefs, he still loved his mother tho, she was much kinder then mimosa. so he took his spot and became king(somehow he had the patience to wait for his dad to retire). peak was brought back by cassius but when peak tried to communicate with theurgy in his dreams he was blocked out, so theurgy was either really non-spiritual or super-spiritual that he learned how to block out the spiritual world(its the latter) so peak and cassius contact a group of teen lions within the pride and helpped them bring down theurgy. if you remember what i said about wandering souls, this might not be the last we see of theurgy.

Aj: I'm glad you liked it. As for something ominous coming their way... well that's still something I'm working on but I have a general idea of what I want it to be.

Sentient Being: Thank you for the nice words. As for now, I don't think there is any specific location in Africa where it could be. I usually don't put my stories in the real world as it were, because I don't feel that comfortable with it. Also, I suck at geography and often find it hard to even figure out where I am in time and space. Personally, I like to imagine my lions living in an alternative dimension, where the continent looks a little different than normal

Oh how i love to read other peoples storys, their a joy to read, Keep up with the good work everyone!

Also i am bursting to talk about my lions to get my thoughts down becuse for for some reason i cant get it down in my doc
But i dont know if you guys what to read that or no ( not that i think you guys are mean or something just that if i did have everything in one post its going to be long, too long i belive), if some of you do, who/what do you want to read about, sure theres not a whole lot but i do have a few lions, like Arrow, Hush, Reaper, Loud and Lore, Midnight, Sandstorm, Scarf, Brute or maybe one of the groups like The hunters or The mamas or maybe something else entirely :D please dont be afraid to ask me :)

(I may also make one for those name circle things with lines that say what their basic relationship is and dont go into much detail but tell you the basic things/relationship(but thats later) I just wanted to add this here idk)

snowwy: Wow, I love how thoroughly you've thought through this! It sounds like a great story, and a ton of fun. Also sounds like a great set up for a young adult story, something like Warriors or Wings of Fire. You have a unique force that can come in halfway through, an interesting main villain who is motivated by his past, and a divine call to action. Plus a setup for a "sequel" of sorts :) I'm also super interested in how Theurgy's remarkable spiritual powers will come into this, and whether that has anything to do with his hatred towards worship of the divine. I also really want to know who the young lions are who are going to take him down. You probably don't have them yet, though, do you?

Uchawi: I can't wait to see what apocalyptic terrors you have in mind :) Tell us as soon as you have it figured out! And yeah, I'm awful at geography too, which is kind of why I focused on that specifically. I have a crippling lack of knowledge about where anything is, so I thought I'd work on that. But I love the idea of this being a sort of alternate universe because, after all, we do have space dragons, hot pink lions, warring demons and angels, and gods just chilling out, among other things. I guess I never really thought of this Lioden world as the "real world," but a slightly odd equivalent with much more magic.

Bigmemes: You know what might be a good idea so you don't clutter up the thread? You can create an entirely new thread with information on your lions and pride. I would recommend posting it in the Writing and Poetry forum, which is under the Tree Carvings section. That way you can link it here and we can all take a look at the lions we're interested in. I would be happy to read through the whole thing, though depending on the size it might take me a while. That way I can read about all of them!

By the way, guys, I was wondering if you all could help me with something. My side account's king is about to retire, and I want to revamp my lore for that pride a little bit. It doesn't have to be complicated at all, but I wanted some suggestions because I'm having trouble thinking of something. Just throw stuff out there. There are no bad ideas. This is what I know:
1. My king will be a charming, smug sort of lion
2. I will keep as close to true neutral karma as possible
3. I'll keep my pride very small - up to 10 lions
4. They will serve my main pride
I would love help thinking of naming themes, how this pride came together, why they serve my main, and some ideas for relationships/conflicts. Thanks, guys!

Sentient Being: i originally(and still do) started writing within the warriors and wings of fire fandom, so i think those are still big inspirations for me. i dont have the group of lions in my pride yet but im working towards it. i was thinking a group of 5 some within the pride and some outside of it. i have a general idea of what they will do but for now they are a blank slate.
