owl looked down at the flamingo feather she was studying, frowned at it and continued watching what was going on around her. someone noticed this and went up to her. she tilted her head at them. ”hi ” she said quietly.

Akirl leaned back to let the sun, watching the cub and lioness and they washed, wondering if he should join. He remembered his daughter telling the Spotted Pride when they first met about how they should've been able to smell him. He grunted. Was that a bad thing, to have your enemies be able to smell him and stay away from the area? He assumed the lionesses didn't like it just as much as his enemies. He got up and went over to the water, saying: "I'm coming in, too." He hesitated, dipping his paw into the water, relieved it was warm, then sank into it, letting his mane get drenched in water. He sighed. This was... relaxing.



Velvet Cake sniffed at Owl. "Hello there!" She sat next to her, asking curiously: "What'cha doing?"

Blizzard was almost done washing the mud off of herself carefully. When she had finished, she got out and felt a cold wind brush against her fur.

Blizzard looked up to the sky. Familiar big clouds started to be seen in the distance. "The cold front.." She said quietly. Blizzard then climbed up to a tree carefully to take a better look. The clouds were still in the distance.

She got down and turned to Akirl. "I can see big snow clouds far in the distance. If I'm right, we'll be having snow tomorrow(!)"
From her past experiences, she just hoped it wasn't as aggressive as the snow storms she faced in her childhood...

Akirl sniffed and was able to smell a bit of cold in the air. He nodded. "Yes, I can smell it coming over." He looked over at Valentine, who he wasn't too shocked to see was trying to pull her leaf-bandage off of her leg back on land. He leaped out of the water and picked her up, making her jaws fall loose and letting the leaves stay on her leg. She gave a tiny roar. He was impressed by how it sounded quite close to a roar. "let me go! That stupid leaf hurts a lot!" She swatted at his chin and he felt a sting. He felt the relaxation he felt while in the water boil down into exhaustion. This cub was going to be a pawful. He turned to Blizzard and said: "lets go back to the others. Everytime there's a sign of snow we take shelter in the cave we have in case anyone gets too cold and could get sick, but we have to make it comfortable so we need patrols to gather items to put into the cave."

"No need. It seems that it will be a lighter snow, much less sickly. It will be a long day of snow that will make it seem like it's a regular snow, but trust me, we should be just fine. I mean, if you still want to hide them in the cave, you can, but I've seen much, much worse than what snow will fall tomorrow."

Blizzard said her suggestion before shaking her fur. "Anyways, should we be off now?"

Akirl hesitated, then shook his head. "No matter how heavy or light the snow is the strong lions could take it, but the cubs won't be able to." Valentine gave a snarl at this. "I can take anything!"

"You clearly couldn't take just sitting with Shining!" He growled back. "You just had to run away and somehow get mud on yourself in the process!"

Valentine went silent.

"Now come on. I've got to give the lionesses and Slate their patrols."

She sighed and nodded. "Fair enough."
Blizzard followed them back, seemingly hearing a voice speaking to her through the wind the whole way back.

When they had got back, shocking gasps were heard. Blizzard looked around before seeing the entrance to the cave completely blocked by a few heavy boulders.

Rustymane was counting every pride mate of the Spotted pride before sighing in relief at the sight of Blizzard. "So nobody in our pride got trapped. Good..." Rustymane spoke before rushing to Akirl to tell him what happened.

Blizzard was shocked to see a faint, blue ghostly spirit in front of the blocked cave. It couldn't be seen by any other lion, just by Blizzard. The lion spirit had a blue outline with a more translucent lighter blue for the rest of the body. It looked as if it came from some sort of blue wind gust... and it was staring right at her, as if it KNEW this would happen to the cave!

Owl looked at them. ”studying a feather. Seeing what it has on it and the stuff on it that helps a bird fly. ” She said to Velvet Cake.

"What's going on?!" Akirl roared. Queen scrambled to her paws and went over, saying quickly: "We have no idea! We were all just sitting, talking and then some rocks on the top of the cave came tumbling down and blocked the cave!" She looked panicked, her claws digging into the ground repeatedly. "We've been trying to pull the rocks out but they're all.. stuck onto eachother!"


Slate came over, panting. His jaws were bleeding slightly; he was clearly attempting to pull them out with his teeth. "yeah, they're all packed together, it's like dry honey's keeping them together!"



"That's... interesting!" Velvet Cake smiled, giving her King and the others cautious glances then sitting down and saying: "What have you found out so far? This looks interesting."

"That's impressive." Velvet Cake thought of a story, then gasped happily. "You know, once I was on a hunt with some friends and we saw a bunch of birds with those feathers. I tried to grab one but the others started making noises and pecking at me."

Rustymane looked at Akirl. "I suggest you count your pride mates, make sure they aren't trapped!" (none of em are hah star pride wouldn't)

Blizzard, before she knew it, was just staring at the rocks. The spirit had vanished somewhere. She shook her head, seeing the other 2 caves just fine. A few on the lions would still have a place to sleep atleast.

She sighed, preparing to say that she'd move her nest outside, but a whisper from a strong wind gust said otherwise. "That cave is your own tonight, Blizzard..." It slowly spoke to her, and to her only. How would she hoard a whole cave just because some wind told her to?

"Star pride will speak to Akirl..." The wind blew into her ear before the gust had stopped blowing onto her. She looked around. Apparently, she had been the only one to hear the wind speak. She shook herself, unsure of what to do now...

He looked around wildly, counting as he looked, then remembered he had the chaotic cub in his jaws as he thought for a moment he had lost one. He put Valentine down and nodded to Queen. "Well, it doesn't look like we'll be able to make any warm nests this time."

Slate gave a sigh of relief, yet Kindness and Camel looked furious. "How are we supposed to keep our cubs safe?!" Camel blurted. Kindness nodded.

Akirl felt a stab of anger. What if his cubs got sick? What if they died? "I don't know what to do. I'm sorry.."

Kindness and Camel looked defeated as well, then Camel growled: "If anything were to happen to these cubs you can be sure to find me leaving."

Lionesses around them gasped and gave small snarls. "Wouldn't that mean your cubs are too weak to handle something as light as cold weather?" Valentine put in. Akirl noticed Slates eyes give a glint. As if he wanted to get up and agree with the cub. "Is there anything you'd like to say, Slate?" Akirl growled.

"N-no." He shook his head.

"You little brat!" Camel snapped at the cub. "You should be thankful that you even were allowed here!"

"What does that have to do with your weak cubs?" Valentine challenged.

Camel gave a roar and threw a claw at the cub, yet Kindness roared: "STOP THAT!"

The lioness stopped in her tracks, looking horrified with what she was about to do. She sat back and growled: "Stay away from me." She snarled at the cub, then drew the cubs away. Valentine huffed, looking victorious. Akirl looked at both the lioness and the cub. Was all that over the cave being blocked? What else would happen over it?
